Learn how to prepare espresso AND make latte art! We will go through the basics on how to achieve a great tasting espresso recipe. Then we will use those espresso coffees to make cappuccinos and also learn latte art techniques. This is a fun and interactive class for beginners and anyone who would like to learn how to create milk based drinks or improve their latte art skills.

Coffee brewing class - Learn how to create an excellent coffee recipe! We will go through the basics of creating a coffee recipe for your at-home, office, or professional setting. We start from scratch and slowly build up to a final recipe by using different techniques, skills, and brewing parameters. In this class we will use manual brewing devices such as the famous cone drippers like Hario V-60 or the Chemex. But we are also able to use the Aero Press, French press, or Kalita Wave. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on and interactive coffee lesson. We will be trying different coffees all along the session, so be prepared for an amazing coffee tasting experience!

Coffee roasting and tasting class: learn and see what is involved in the art of coffee roasting. I will provide a demonstration for guests by using a commercial-grade machine at a professional coffee roasting studio/lab. Guests will be able to participate on a hands-on level. I will show all the necessary and important steps throughout the coffee roasting process. Afterwards we will all taste the coffees together, try different methods of brewing, and more! This is a great activity for coffee lovers and everyone in between. It allows for unique interactions, conversations, new ideas, and the opportunity to learn so much that wasn't known or experienced before. Cow Cuddling Therapy - Guests will meet and actively interact with docile, loving and affectionate rescue brown swiss cows, oxen and calves. Guests arrive to our Working Farm & Sanctuary, and are given an educational and fun tour by tractor or foot of the 350 acres, where they will be introduced to how humans, cows, the land and nature co-exist harmoniously. After the tour, guests are escorted to our newly constructed cow barn to lay in the comfortable straw with each of the cows as they rest and ruminate. This close contact and touch relieves stress and uplifts the spirit of the cow cuddler. This therapy is known as Koe Knuffelen and is extremely supportive of improved mental health. The experience concludes with a delicious plant-based / vegan meal prepared by the Sanctuary's Culinary Center from produce raised organically on the very same land and/or sourced locally from other farmers. Create a one of a kind dessert inspired candle. With over 150 design options, our candle-making class is unique because we create candles that look and smell like edible foods! Guests will be shown different varieties of wax toppings that we make in our facility and receive guidance in creating their design. Guests will be able to take home their candle creation and will have completed the class with unique candle making knowledge and experience. Let's start our morning at Philly's Temple to the People, City Hall, from which we will move to Reading Terminal Market, where we will get a deeper understanding of "What Philadelphians eat" by sampling and eating our way through cultures and countries. After eating some amazing food at Reading Terminal, we will catch a train West to one of Philly's historic Farmer's Markets to see and sample what's in season. Along the way, we will pop into a few restaurants and eateries for quick, "grab & go bites." From the farmers market, we will take a slow stroll through one of my favorite neighborhoods and experience samples of fine cheeses, see where great breads and pastries are made, and snack on one of my favorite places to get a really good slice of pizza, with a side of gelato, of course! Continuing our tour, we will head, to Chinatown to see and sample some great markets, restaurants, and grab some tea! This tour is best enjoyed as part of a duo, perhaps even a team, as you will want to sample everything. The freedom to grab what you want to eat and say no to what you don't is a key part of this experience, so eat to your heart's content, knowing you will burn any excess calories off on our journey.

Next, we’ll head to the Museum of American Revolution, which offers an incredible look at the stories, artifacts, and people that shaped the American Revolution. As we walk through Old City, we’ll also pass by some favorite sites such as Elfreth’s Alley (the oldest continuously-occupied residential street in the entire US), showcasing incredible architecture dating back to the early 1700s, the Betsy Ross House, named after a famous seamstress and flag maker who is said to have sewn the first ever American flag, Benjamin Franklin’s Grave (bring a penny to toss!), and the outdoor President’s House Landmark where Washington and Adams lived.

In about 1.5 hours I will be teaching you how to make 3 different FUN luxury products, that you get to take home with you. We will start with 100% domestic soy candle with a cotton wick with your choice of fragrance. We will then make a soap that you can roll into a scroll, you choose your herbs and essential oils. Finally we will be making a Face Spritzer that contain organic aloe vera. We will chat about the benefits of essential oils and which would be the best for you. Bottle water will be available. There are a minimum of two people and maximum 4 people per class, children 10 years and over are welcomed.
