Honey Bees Up Close - Bee A Keeper
Your 1.5+ hour interactive nature experience with the bees begins with a multimedia overview of the life of a bee. You’ll see a hive and learn how to hold a frame (without squishing the bees -they don’t like that). We’ll get suited up. Light a smoker. Do a safety check, and approach the hive. At the hive you’ll see and feel the power of propolis (a supplement for humans as well) -- its the glue bees use to seal up the hive. We’ll lift the lid and go inside. For some, that’s might be as far as they want to go. But, if you’re adventurous, we will do a complete hive inspection: Pull frames to see how the bees create honey and keep the colony alive. You’ll see open “wet cells” of nectar that are still in the process of transforming into honey. You’ll see capped honey, tiny freshly laid eggs and all the stages of bee development ( larvae, caped brood, and newly emerging “baby bees”). I’ll show you how beekeepers help control pests (other insects and diseases) and keep the bees healthy so they can do their important work. You’ll hold frames of bees and feel the weight of a full frame of honey when compared to a frame of bees. There’s always time for selfies. You’ll sample honey & enjoy a cold beverage sweetened with honey. This is Ecco tourism with some of mother nature’s most important workers.

Kayaking adventure in Shell Key Preserve near St Pete Beach
We are Shell Key's #1 kayak tour. We provide 2 guides on every tour to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Upon arrival, guests will be offered a paddle instruction, making this experience perfect for both experts and first-timers. Approximately half-way through the tour, we will stop at one of several possible landing sites at the island of Shell Key to stretch our legs, swim, snorkel, or collect shells. After enjoying the island, we will make our way back through the preserve, possibly visiting areas or tunnels we did not see before, always keeping a watchful eye out for dolphins, manatees, and the many species of birds that live in the area. We will arrive back at the launch site approximately 3 hours after launch time. Other things to note Contact me before booking if you need a tandem kayak. The Dancing Goat Dairy Farm Tour
I will give a short overview of the farm and we will get to know each other the first 10 minutes. Our walking tour starts with the ducks (they are up front) and continue through emus, chickens, geese and more ducks. It is a working farm so the farm will be in action around you from feeding to cleaning duties. We will continue to the barn area where we will first visit with our dry stock (non-milking) and bucks. Here is where the guests will be allowed to pet the animals and feed animal cookies we supply. I will explain the different breeds of goats, what they eat, how their digestion work and show the difference between our dry goats and our milking line. From time to time there are babies of all species from goats, to ducks, to chicks, to bunnies. We cannot plan what we will have at any one time but most always something with feathers in a brooder. We are also a cat foster so most of the time there are kittens to see. If we have baby goats at the time, the guests will have the opportunity to pet, snuggle and love on the goats. They will view the milking parlor The tour will conclude with a sampling of dairy products made here on the farm. Approx 2 hour tour depending on interest with the last 20-30 minutes spent sampling our various goat cheeses and products. We usually run over 1/2 hour. Wear comfortable shoes/clothes, bug spray or suncreen, if sensitive
Plein Air Painting Deep in the Mediterranean Landscape
Indulge your senses in a journey through the vibrant world of land/ seascape painting with this Paint Workshop. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Mediterranean landscape or the quaint charm of southern French towns, you'll experience first hand the essence of this beloved artistic movement. Led by skilled instructor artist Felicity Kelham, this workshop is a celebration of bold colors and expressive brushwork, echoing the techniques of renowned Impressionist and fauvism artists. Embracing the importance of painting en plein air, you'll learn to harness the ever-changing light and atmosphere of your surroundings to infuse your canvas with life and emotion. During the two-hour session, typically held in the early morning sunlight for optimal inspiration, we'll gather by the sea or amidst vineyards nestled near picturesque towns in the Pyrenees-Orientales region of southern France – reminiscent of the locales favored by many of the old masters. All necessary art materials, including acrylic paints and canvases, will be provided. We recommend dressing comfortably in clothes you don't mind getting a bit messy, along with bringing water and a sun hat to ensure your comfort during the outdoor painting experience. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your very own landscape masterpiece, infused with your own expression.
