The cabin was built out of 100+year old reclaimed materials with 15 foot vaulted ceilings on the main floor. With poplar bark walls, incredible lighting, hand cut slate floors your stay is guaranteed to be enchanting. Sit in the hot tub and look at a waterfall while listening to another waterfall behind you and river below you.

The space includes covered porch dining, firepit, full kitchen and indoor dining, living room, bathroom, and one bedroom. The property location offers quick access to a major interstate putting opportunities in WNC and Asheville within reach. We are short drive from Mars Hill University. Hatley Pointe is a short 20 min drive. Families with kids are welcome. (NO PETS)

Our favorite aspect is the neighboring South African restaurant (The Bush Farmhouse). They have a mini farm, so don’t be surprised to see donkeys, pigs, and chickens checking out the backyard. There is also the claw foot soaking tub. It’s a peaceful place with lively experiences at your fingertips.

Watauga River Cottage in Johnson City, TN

Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly water front river cottage (Approximately 1,700sf)! Bring your fishing pole and relax! We have Kayaks and life jackets available upon request at no charge (life jackets required!). Enjoy some time on the hammocks by the river or step into the hot tub on the deck over looking the river. Please note we do have a video camera overlooking the driveway as well as overlooking the stairway and river bank below the river cottage.
