The Villa Zerva is situated to Kamilari. We can reach the center, the inns and trade on foot with no problem at all. An exceptional location Between sea and hill of olive groves, it offers an exceptional panorama on Psiloritis (2500 meters in height) It is situated in a strategic location unless 10 min of 3 very different beaches. Kalamaki, the typical with its local inns, Komos and its beach so wild as the turtles lay their eggs, and beautiful Matala, ex capital of the hippies where Cat Steven and Bob Dylan liked staying in its caves on the return to the route fro India in its rocks, also adapted for diving and snorkeling with his crystalline blue waters... There is also Kokkinos Pirgos hardly more, unknown of the tourists where the fine sand will allow you to walk for half a mile in the water... In short, a very diverse panel! A true village far from the mass tourism of the north coast The fact that the village is not directly on the coast has allowed it not to lose its original activities (mainly agricultural), and therefore to retain its inhabitants and all its character: pretty traditional houses, picturesque streets, cafes and taverns typically Greek ... Pesticides and chemical fertilizers do not have good press near Kamilariens who cultivate their own garden ... In this "granary of Crete" you will be very surprised to weigh the bags of fruits, vegetables and cheeses by returning from the market for a sum spent, much lower than our habits ... Villa Zerva is like Kamilari, made for families I have 3 children so I will be happy to give you my advices to permit your children having fun and spending unforgettable holidays! You will understand, the atmosphere in Kamilari is family and friendly, and it is very, very far from mass tourism - which allows the village to be more practical for a personalized stay including rest, sea, tours of the hinterland and archaeological sites (a few kilometers from the village), gastronomy, discovery of the local culture ... The old houses of Kamilari are built of stone, I tried to inspire me to offer you a brand new home with all the amenities and everything is brand new! Archaeological sites within 15 minutes Villa Zerva is also ideally placed for lovers of Ancient History and Archeology. The site of the Palace of Festos (from which is originated his famous Festos disc) is often considered as the most beautiful site of all Crete, because unlike that of Knossos (near Heraklion) overcrowded by the numerous tourists of the northern coast, it has not been partly remade with artificial colors for lack of resources, but Festos remained the same on a location from which you can see the entire valley of the Messara. An authentic site, as are the inhabitants of this region of Crete. Its "sister" Agia Triada, is a few hundred meters, another palace of the Minoan era. Finally, 10 kilometers from Villa Zerva, the site of Gortyne and its "Great Code", written in the Dorian dialect and is one of a number of legal inscriptions found scattered across Crete...
