Larriston Coach House, for a very rural stay

Larriston Coach House is a large four-bedroomed cottage, part of a very rural 19th century farm steading on 28 acres, with 2,500 acres of hillside starting at the doorstep. It's right on the Scottish Border, close to Kielder and Newcastleton (both five miles away), and ideal for visiting Kielder observatory, Kielder Forest, the Borders or north Northumberland. There’s plenty of space, inside and out, including an enclosed sunny courtyard and undercover barbecue area with a suspended log fire.

Adjoining the owners farmhouse, Low Floweryhirst Cottage is cosy with open plan living space on the ground floor with a wood burning stove, ideal for those chillier nights. When the weather is fine, you can sit in the garden being disturbed by nothing more than the birds and sheep, or take a stroll in the ancient woodland beside the quietly meandering stream below. This is also the perfect location for exploring the Scottish Borders, The Lake District and The Northumberland National Park.

The property uses clean energy from our small turbine making it a zero-carbon heated accommodation. We have a electric car charging point for EV owners. We are near the Debatable Lands, Hadrian's Wall, Gretna, Kielder Forest and Carlisle.

Cleugh Foot - A Pink 3-Bed Rural Cumbrian Cottage

Cleugh Foot (pronounced Clue Foot) is one of the original buildings on the Netherby Estate, overlooking acres of parkland along the River Esk. Painted pink, this beautiful bolthole can be found down your very own driveway in amongst the trees... with three bedrooms, three bathrooms (one en-suite), sitting room with wood burner, utility room, entranceway, kitchen and dining area. Outside, find a pergola with hot tub and dining area and an enclosed dog area with firepit!

In a peaceful location on the edge of the forest and overlooking a valley, The Blue Hemmel is a high spec barn conversion that has all you'll need for a great holiday. The barn is in the heart of both the National and Dark Sky Parks, and a short drive to Hadrian's Wall. You'll be a mile from your nearest neighbours (us!). So while we can’t offer you a pub at the end of the road, we can give you peace, wildlife and 800 acres to explore.

The store has a recently refurbished kitchen/living room and is ideal for two families holidaying together. It is located in a quiet, rural, riverside haven, close to forests and the Scottish border. Great for family walks and four legged friends. We have a lovely, homely bar/restaurant on site which serves drinks and evening meals over the weekend. Also open for meals in the week on request.
