We have the best of both worlds, stunning countryside & easy access to local amenities. We’re on Domen Fawr which is over 1653ft high. At the top you can see Pen y Fan & central Brecons. Heads of the Valley is nearby & provides great access across South Wales. Cardiff is an hour away by train. We are a quiet retreat, ideal for walkers, young families or couples wanting a relaxing, peaceful break. Pets are welcome but there are additional charges. Please ask us in advance as we have our own dogs.

La Cantera is a self-contained accommodation situated in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. As you enjoy the short buggy ride down to the far end of our woodland you will be astounded when you come across our beautiful woodland cabin set in the treetops. You will immediately feel relaxed as you immerse yourself in the surrounding nature. Lounging chairs on the decking provide the perfect place for your morning coffee listening to the birds sing and soak away your stress in the wood fired hot tub then cosy up in front of the log burner and enjoy the tranquility of the woodland.

Heated Shepherd’s Hut with private hot tub

The Shepherd’s hut and art room are close to the river. There are four self catering accommodations within the grounds each has access to their own hot tubs. The Shepherd’s hut has a shower and toilet, hair dryer, dressing gowns and a heater. Sole use of the Art room is included and has full cooking facilities, a fridge, a wood burning stove, table and sofa. It is an ideal escape for a romantic weekend. The garden is festooned with fairy lights and who are invited to feed the alpacas.
