It also is part of the southwest fishing industry and catches are landed daily to the Plymouth Fish Market situated at Sutton Harbour. Beaches are nearby in both Devon and Cornwall and Bovisand boasts the south west dive centre.

For the golfers among you a number of courses are nearby :- Boringdon, Elfordleigh, Staddon Heights around Plymouth outskirts and China Fleet and St Mellion just into Cornwall.
Take the passenger ferry to Mount Edgecombe park, walk through acres of grounds overlooking the Tamar and the Sound. Lookout for deer on your walk. Google Mount Edgecombe to see what events will be happening through out the year. Cafes available, picnic spots why not hire a Segway.
