An always-good restaurant on the Uptown edge of the Irish Channel. It's a relaxed and intimate spot with meals that will not disappoint. Great brunch even served on some weekdays, Thursday-Monday. As with all the good spots, they tend to get busy during busy times. Plan to be in a queue on the weekends, but worth the wait. Call ahead.

This spot has delicious New Orleans food (cajun/creole/soul) but usually has very long wait and you can't make reservations for parties less than 6. On a weekend night, the wait is ridiculous; so long that you end up extra tipsy by the time you make it to your table. However, drunk or not, when you get a table and eat the food, you will probably remember the meal for life. Great restaurant if you have the time to wait.
The Maple Leaf Bar is right next door, they have live music nightly.

They have a large list of fresh juices and smoothies that they make fresh while you're waiting, and serve prepared soups, sandwiches, salads and snacks. Tell them Cool Aaron sent you; you probably won't get a discount, but you will be welcomed.

A Caribbean Taqueria in the Garden District on Magazine Street. They have a jerk fish there that's really good and the tacos are on point. Frozen margaritas are delicious!

A local favorite Mexican eatery. They rarely disappoint with any of their dishes; reasonable prices and cool folks. When in season, their crawfish queso is like crack sauce (the regular queso is good too, and available year-round).

A go-to restaurant on lively Magazine Street offering "Nuevo Latino" fare. Many good meals have been eaten here. They're sangria is worth mentioning.
