Beautiful gardens
The Botanical Garden in the town center is worth a visit. On the outskirts, there is the fabulous Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden. Most wine farms have their tasting rooms and restaurants set in beautiful gardens set amongst the vineyards (notably Conde Nast, Tokara, Asara)
If you like gardens, do visit! Convenient in the center of Stellenbosch. Small but densely planted with beautiful old trees and a huge variety of plants. Lovely coffee shop/restaurant under a shady canopy. Shop with herbal products.

Take a scenic drive to enjoy the vineyards and mountains.
Jonkershoek is a beautiful valley at the end of a very scenic drive. The drive itself is worth it. Close to town, but you feel like you are miles away, surrounded by majestic mountains. One of the best and safest places to hike or cycle.
2. Drive the over Helshoogte Pass to the Banhoek Valley and Pniel, taking in breathtaking scenery and views.
3. Cycle or drive the via the Blaauwklippen and Annandale Road to the Long Table at Haskell and enjoy simply amazing views.

Walk Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch traffic can be heavy and take precious time away from experiencing the town itself. Rather take the scenic, paved pedestrian path along the Eerste River and walk to town. Explore the historical town center (Church Street, Dorp Street) and enjoy the architecture and tree-lined streets at your leisure. Along the way you will pass many, many coffee shops and restaurants.

Traffic in and around Stellenbosch can be frustrating. Or if you plan on doing wine tasting, and cannot drive safely, rather consider Uber (it is safe and readily available) or use Stellenbosch Tourism or other various private operators who offer Wine Tours.

5 Wine Regions around Stellenbosch
More than 150 wine farms are spread out all around Stellenbosch. It is impossible to visit them all in a day or two. If you only have a couple of days, I recommend that you choose one or two regions to explore by car, or book a tour or shuttle to take you to a few estates.
