Sightseeing
Perast is another must-see place about 5 minute's drive away, it is also possible to walk (approx 1 hour). It is an old village with very iconic stone houses and has several waterside cafes, good for taking the boat out to Our Lady of the Rocks (which can also be done directly from Risan). If you are more active rent a kayak and paddle out to the rock as well.
On both ends of Perast, there are places to Swim our favorite is a local place free of charge on the side towards Kotor. It is very simple but we like the vibe.

Our Lady of the Rocks
Our Lady of the Rocks is a famous little island just outside of Perast. It is a beautiful little island with a small church on it. This is a very romantic island easy to access from both Perast (a lot of boat cost might be €5 EUR or so) and from Risan (ask in the ticket office located in the center of the village). You can also go by kayak or SUP. It is a must-see when visiting the area.
For us, this is a view an incredible viewpoint on the top of Mount Lovćen which is located 1660 meters above sea level that offers cool in the summer heat.
The site also has a lot of history and is a mausoleum for Petar II Petrović-Njegoš.

It has a free beach on the left side and a very expensive one belonging to the hotel that charges €100+ on the right side.
At least stop by and take a look if you are heading in this direction.

The iconic Sveti Stefan is a beautiful island outside of Budva and the whole island is an Aman hotel. It is not allowed to enter the island without a booking.
It has a free beach on the left side and a very expensive one belonging to the hotel that charges €100+ on the right side.
At least stop by and take a look if you are heading in this direction.
Food Scene
Hipnos is a simple and local cafe by the water in the center of Risan. It offers, coffee, pizza, and other types of fast food as well as breakfast, omelet, etc. a good place to have breakfast and enjoy a great view.
The bakery (Pekara) in the same building has very good bread, sandwiches, and local food for a very affordable price.

Hipnos Restaurant
Hipnos is a simple and local cafe by the water in the center of Risan. It offers, coffee, pizza, and other types of fast food as well as breakfast, omelet, etc. a good place to have breakfast and enjoy a great view.
The bakery (Pekara) in the same building has very good bread, sandwiches, and local food for a very affordable price.
This restaurant Stari Mlini (which means old mill) is located by the water and has absolutely beautiful surroundings, sitting outside in the garden is absolutely recommended. The food is good (a bit pricey) but also it is worth swinging by for a coffee or glass of wine as well.
A tip is to walk around the restaurant's surroundings, you will find natural pools where they keep and grow fish as well.
Be aware of mosquitos at this place, can be good to cover up or bring mosquito repellant.

Savina Winery offers wine tasting and finger food. The view is amazing and the wine is really good. It is a very nice experience if you enjoy wine.
You need a car to access the place and it can be somewhat tricky to find but the location is stunning. To read more and book a tasting check their website.

Here you will get a decent assortment for your grocery shopping you will find all the basics needed to make breakfast, lunch, and, dinner at the apartment. It is possible to walk here in 10 minutes or so note that it is steep on the way back so it might take a bit longer.

On Sundays, you have to walk/drive down to the market in Risan village. It is a lovely very local market where everything is sold from vegetables, dried meat, second-hand clothing, etc. Many locals meet here and do their shopping. If you are in Risan on a Sunday this is a fun way to truly see the local market.

Cogimar offers the best (and most expensive :) ) seafood around the area. It is an experience just to go into the store, if you are a foodie, it is a must. If you want them to clean your fish it is best to go before lunch as often the person doing it leaves in the afternoon. Cogimar also offers a selection of great wine as well as pasta, sushi, meat, and other delicacies!

Bajova Kula is a beach that also offers good food, music, etc. It is a great place to go swimming and hang out on the beach! Approximate 10 minutes' drive away. One of our favorite places in the area.

Just opposite the gas station 'EKO' there is a small beach with no serving mainly used by the locals. There is a small park behind the beach that is usually not well-maintained pass it to get to the beach. This is an excellent place to spend time and swim / hang out with the locals in Risan!
The place 'Fidel Castro Graffiti - Siempre a la Victoria' is actually a boule bar/cafe. We are not recommending it per-say but the local beach that is just by the water below it. This is the closest location on google maps.
It is in some way nothing special it is a pier made in concrete and popular place for locals in Perast and around to swim and sunbathe. We like it a lot. The water is usually very nice. We like this place and usually take the car here for a swim. It has places with good shade during the day.
Fidel Castro Graffiti - Siempre a la Victoria
E65The place 'Fidel Castro Graffiti - Siempre a la Victoria' is actually a boule bar/cafe. We are not recommending it per-say but the local beach that is just by the water below it. This is the closest location on google maps.
It is in some way nothing special it is a pier made in concrete and popular place for locals in Perast and around to swim and sunbathe. We like it a lot. The water is usually very nice. We like this place and usually take the car here for a swim. It has places with good shade during the day.

Very cosy village in Boka Kotor. Take a stroll along the little beach road that goes on for many kilometers. Good also to go by bike.
There are plenty of restaurants along the water as well as small piers to take a Swim.

This shows a different side of Montenegro with a new build port with big yachts etc. We have been a few times but prefer the local and somewhat more genuine places. However could be worth a visit to see big boats, have a bite and walk along the pier.

Visit the tourist center and ask for different hike routes. It is rather nice in the summertime as it is colder up there.
You can pass by Njeguši on your way for the best ham (njeguski prsut), just choose a place, there will be a lot of signs for it.

This place can be interesting to watch if you are coming in the spring-time because all the water from the mountains are getting out here into the boka-bay.
For the adventures person you can go into the 'cave' to see what can be found :-) This can only be done in dry season (summer)
