Since the museum’s opening in 1909, Brekkeparken has been a park for all the citizens of Skien, open to the public throughout the summer months. A dozen of farm buildings have been moved to this park and complete this open air museum. Brekkeparken and the romantic garden, which blooms throughout the season, offer you experiences and recreation. Brekkeparken is also renowned for its magnificent floral displays.

In Snipetorp you can find the old Skien with continuous wooden houses from the end of the 18th century. It's a nice small area to just walk around and admire the old atmosphere.

From Skrehelle you will have one of the most scenic views in the area. There are also marked hiking trails in the area with trails to Venstøptjern, Havretjern and Middagkollane. You can also find a marked trail to Blåfjell from Skrehelle.

Mikaelshulen, or St. Michaelchurch, is a mountain cave in the steep mountain wall on the east side of Norsjø. Mikaelshulen is located in the middle of a rock wall, about 30 m above Norsjø and is clearly visible from the water surface.
The cave is an exciting hiking destination and accessible by boat and on foot, but access is difficult.
By boat you can moor just below the cave. There is a steep path from the water up to the cave. This has both steps and railings.
By car, follow the signs to Pollen from Skotfoss center. There is parking on Omdalsvegen and a blue-marked trail to the cave. The last meters to the cave are in steep terrain. When it rains, the trail is slippery, especially in the steep part up to the cave. The coordinate added is to the parking lot.
