Beautiful monument dedicated to the US Marine Corps. Statue is of US Marines planting the American flag at Iwo Jima during World War II. Site also has beautiful views of Washington, DC.

Great bars and restaurants! You must checkout the charm of this neighborhood
Great quiet little neighborhood. Our favorite restaurant is Pork Barrel or the Sushi place next door. There are two excellent Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood as well, along with multiple cafes and bars.

I don't recommend eating here... the food isn't great. However, they do make their own beer and it's pretty good. The Happy Hour (5-7pm) has great drink specials ($2.75 for a 12 oz!)

Entertainment & Activities
Home of the Nationals! I highly recommend stopping by and catching a game. It's located right off the Navy Yard metro stop. Nearby you will find a Buffalo Wild Wings, BonChon Chicken, and other great restaurants.

Verizon Center is home to the Washington Capitals and Wizards. It's located in Chinatown. I'm going to be brutally honest... it's quite possibly the worst Chinatown of any city I've been too, but none the less, there are quite a few bars and restaurants in this area. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Chinatown, but if you're in town for a concert or game, there's places to check out.

Capital One Arena
601 F St NWVerizon Center is home to the Washington Capitals and Wizards. It's located in Chinatown. I'm going to be brutally honest... it's quite possibly the worst Chinatown of any city I've been too, but none the less, there are quite a few bars and restaurants in this area. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Chinatown, but if you're in town for a concert or game, there's places to check out.
Just a 10 minute or so walk from the building. Or you can catch the bus out front and go one stop towards Crystal City.

Getting Around
Airport is located 5 minutes away. I'd recommend just taking Uber from here instead of the metro... You can get to our place by metro-ing from the airport, but it does take you out of the way. There are also a few shops and restaurants before security.

This is one of two of the closest metro stops. You'll need to take the Metroway bus from the metro, South in the direction of Braddock Road Metro. You'll get off at the Route 1 (Jeff Davis Hwy) and E Glebe Road bus stop.
