Our fragrance bases are made from 100% natural essential oils and absolutes that we have carefully blended ourselves. Hi. I am Helen Jeongju Kim. In this workshop, I will not only teach you how to write beautifully, but also how to experience the joy of carving a handcrafted seal. You will create a design using your name. During this activity, your mind will relax and you will experience healing through the slow analog, tactile sensibility of everyday life. I will teach you how to design and carve your name with a engraving knife on a small stone. First, I shows two ways to engrave the seal and demonstrates how to carve with a carving knife.(straight line, circle, etc.) Then I helps you learn to hold the engraving tool and practice properly. Next, I show the way to design the names and help to design according to syllable of name. You go for it and then cover with ink of Korean style and take a stamp. Once the engraving is over, you can choose a elegant case for your stone seal. It will be an opportunity to rethink the meaning of your name that you have forgotten while carving the seal. When you return home, you'll enjoy looking at the stamp you carved and remembering your travels. I'll write down a message for you in K-calligraphy after you have stamp your seal on a postcard I prepare. Public transportation is convenient. Other things to note -The name stone is not as hard as you think. -Even a 10-year-old can use a tool to carve an own seal.

This workshop offers an opportunity to create your own unique silver type setting stamp or silver jewelry with your own design using Korean alphabet (Hangeul). The Korean type setting stamp and Korean jewelry created in the workshop will become one-of-a-kind creations that will be the best souvenir to keep the joy of your visit to Korea. If you want to make a Korean type setting stamp, first find out your name in Korean to make a stamp, and then design your own special stamp using specially made silver Korean alphabet pieces at the studio. If you want to make Korean jewelry, think about what word you want to make jewelry with. Your name, the name of your loved one, or words you want to remember are all good. And choose what kind of jewelry you want to make. If you have chosen one of the five jewelry items (necklace, earrings, bracelet, key-chain, brooch), you are now entering the world of jewelry making. Korean jewelry can have various designs depending on the arrangement of Korean alphabet (consonants/vowels). Broadly, Korean alcohols are divided into Tak-ju (unfiltered/Makgeolli), Cheong-ju (filtered) and So-ju (spirit). Here, we will focus on our specialty, soju, but we will also taste other types. Samhae soju was a beloved choice of spirit among the noble class of Joseon dynasty(1392~1894) and this luxury soju had a cult following. The current master, Hyeonjong Kim, had learned and practiced for more than 10 years under master Taeksang Kim who had inherited and kept the recipe in the family. You will learn how to make 4 types of authentic Kimchi using Korean cabbage ( Baechu Kimchi ) , radish ( Kkakdugi ) and cucumber ( Oi Sobagi ). Especially for cabbage Kimchi, you will learn how to make Kimchi for a long term ( Gimjang Kimchi ) and fresh Kimchi ( Geotjeori ). After making Kimchi, you will enjoy your Kimchi with boiled pork and fried tofu like what Korean do with family on a 'Kimchi making day'. Class is led by certified Korean cook Jomin in English, and conducted in her cooking studio around local Mangwon market, close to Hongdae area. Before class, you will enjoy local market tour as well.
