During a sunrise hike, we may hike the first part in the dark using our flashlights (provided) and watch the sunrise from the summit. This hike has been an age old tradition for locals especially during the full moon and on clear/windless nights/mornings where the lights of the city below dazzle and the moon and stars show off its beauty in the night sky. Other things to note Wear clothing you are comfortable hiking in. Ensure you wear descent pair of hiking/walking shoes. A fair level of fitness is required. You need to be comfortable with heights. Start times vary based on Sunset and Sunrise and it is critical that we start on time in order to witness Sunrise/Sunset

Intuitive Creating Mandala's & SoulPainting
Everyone is creative in some way and this process encourages the expression of that. Ideal for anyone – experienced to beginner – to play, explore and reconnect to their inner wonder child. Give yourself time off to silence your mind and breathe - no expected outcome, no judgment, no need to get it right - just a chance to relax into playing with art making materials, and listening to the messages from your soul. We start with a mindful meditation and connection to self, learning how to follow your body's way of saying yes and no. Then using that information you select the place to create, the instruments and materials to use. There will be guidelines on how to move away from that loud inner critic and keep creating so that you can create something that may truly surprise you. This is not Art Therapy … This is Creativity Ignition!
Kintsugi-Japanese art of putting broken pottery together
Join me for a morning of mindfulness for an introduction to the Japanese Art of Kintsugi. This centuries old art form is filled with many philosophical lessons and can be viewed as a metaphor for healing ourselves by embracing our own flaws and imperfections. Traditional Kintsugi can take months to complete. In this 3.5 hour workshop I’ll share contemporary methods to practice and apply on any ceramics that need to be mended to allow you to repair and restore into something unique and resilient rather than dispose of. During the 3.5 hours there will be time to order off our menu and enjoy our delish Dimsum (dumplings, Bao buns, Springrolls and won ton as well as rice / noodle dishes). Booking essential as space is limited. What to expect: A morning of mindfulness at our Traditional Teahouse to learn the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi and to apply this to a ceramic of your own that needs to be repaired. What to bring: A ceramic of your own like a vase/pot plant holder/bowl etc that is either broken in half or with 2 - 4 pieces broken off. Please note the technique I will share uses gold leaf / gold powder that is not food grade safe. If you don’t have a ceramic to use - you’re welcome to purchase a ceramic from us. What’s the cost: The 3.5 hour workshop costs R680 and includes all materials and a welcome drink.

Wilderness Bushman Walk
Experience the thriving nature of Wilderness like never before. Join a local plant specialist and learn about edible, medicinal and useful plants and the greater workings of an abundant ecosystem and spot the many beautiful wild flowers that present themselves throughout the seasons. The total distance of the route is 3km, mostly uneven and steep terrain. We will be experiencing all the different ecotones as the fynbos and afrotemperate forest mingle. We encounter an overhang once inhabited by the local San people. We sit for a moment feeling the ancient energies, while having a cup of herbal tea. We keep making our way through impressive forest looking at interesting organisms until we reach the magical Kaaimans river where we can rest our bodies in it's refreshing waters so bring something to swim with. In Summer the water is warm but Winter can take a turn for the cold so a good time for a cold plunge if that's what you into. After a snack and time for relaxation at the waters edge it's time to head back up the hill back to our start/end point which is 1km (25-45min) A consistent incline but done at a leasurely pace, there are always beautiful views, animals, birds, trees or interesting plants to stop and observe while we all catch our breath.
