Kawakawa Hut

A small but special little place tucked neatly between rolling hills. Kawakawa Hut provides a simple but comfy getaway for two in a beautiful countryside. Close by lies the vegetable garden, and friendly cows graze just over the fence. Further out over surrounding farmland you can see Tongariros snow capped mountains in the distance, so sit back and enjoy. Tui Cabin

This container home is set in a private spot surrounded by native bush with a view of the mountain through the trees. The interior of the cabin consists of a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and wood burner. The container has a cosy ambience with lots of light on a sunlit day. Large ranchsliders connect you to the natural world outside for hiking, kayaking, canoeing, skiing or mountain exploring. Walk across the road to dine or relax and cook at home.

Our home doesn’t disappoint and we are excited to share it with the Air BnB community. A self contained wing of our home sits in a tranquil spot. A five minute drive or a stroll along the lakefront will get you into town. We’re a few minutes walk from the Botanical Gardens and the lakefront :-)

Our cabin is situated in the closest residential village to Whakapapa Ski Field and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - a famous one day trek. You’ll love the view of the mountain (on a clear day) and the ambiance of a warm log fire. Great for all those wanting to explore the beauty of the Central Plateau, skiing and snowboarding (winter season), tramping, mountain biking (all year round) or just taking a much needed break away from it all. Located just minutes from the quaint township of Piopio and a 35 minute drive to the famous Waitomo Caves. On a working dairy farm, Waitui Rest provides a great place for couples looking for a romantic weekend away or a convenient stop when travelling between Waikato and Taranaki.

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Washing machine, hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided.
