The school house

The School House is situated up a tree lined driveway, and offers peaceful, self catering accommodation for 1-3 people. It is an 5 minute drive (3km) from the centre of Te Awamutu. The school house is situated in a rural setting, with beautiful views of the garden and surrounding countryside. Built in the 1880's and operational as a school until 1939, it has a character and history that is unique. Surrounded by trees it has a host of native birds including Tui, Fantails and Kingfishers.

Tucked into our established back garden, you can enjoy a beautiful quiet private TINY home hideaway with easy entry and off-street parking. Perfect for professionals/couples (no children sorry) wanting to explore Cambridge, or make a base for day trips to all the surrounding areas – beaches, tourist attractions, cycling and more. We are a 20-25 min walk (5 min drive) to Cambridge town. Cambridge is the jewel of the Waikato and has a wonderful high street of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Te Awamutu is also a great base for exploring — the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Hobbiton, and the beautiful Hamilton Gardens are all an easy day trip away. Sorry, no pets.

Black Barn, Pirongia

Nearby is Sanctury Mountain-Maungatautari, Otorohanga Kiwi House, both just 25mins away. Or just relax, put a record on, enjoy the space, and unwind in the Hot tub.
