Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

Stable Cottage is a 200 year old traditional slate-clad cottage in the picturesque village of Threlkeld within the Lake District National Park, just 4 miles from Keswick. It sleeps up to six, and has recently been renovated with a seamless blend of the traditional and contemporary. Sitting in a quiet lane at the foot of Blencathra, the views of this magnificent mountain from the cottage are simply stunning. It provides a perfect peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of normal daily living.

Situated in the lovely village of Portinscale this warm detached family home provides everything you might want to enjoy a stay in the Lake District. We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Grange Bridge Cottage

Grange Bridge Cottage occupies one of the most iconic settings within the Lake District National Park. Situated at the entrance to the picturesque village of Grange in Borrowdale. Formally a tea shop providing refreshments to weary walkers, the cottage becomes your very own Base Camp from which to explore, adventure or just relax in the hot tub while taking in the grandeur of the setting and the abundant wildlife. Wainwright described this area as “the loveliest square mile in Lakeland”.

Ardale House

Ardale House is a comfortable detached property in the quiet locality of Threlkeld ideal for walkers, families or small groups. It nestles under the impressive slopes of Blencathra. It is well situated near Keswick providing easy access to the many places of interest in the northern parts of the Lake District. A short walk takes you to a renowned hostelry or coffee shop in the village hall. There is immediate access to the fells as well as numerous circular walks in the vicinity.

Snug Cottage

Snug Cottage is located at the bottom of Blencathra. It’s a perfect base to explore all local walks and enjoy the local surroundings. Within a couple of minutes walk from Snug Cottage there is a lovely coffee shop & two pubs. We are 5-10 minutes to the Railway Line which is a 4 mile walk which takes you to the closest town, Keswick - here you will find supermarkets & shops. As well as stunning views and walks, we are happy to recommend day trips and things to do.

Beltie Barn

Beltie Barn is one of our luxury Lake District hideaways sitting in the valley surrounded by mountains - Blencathra to the north and Helvellyn to the south. The view from the floating king size bed in Beltie Barn is so picture perfect, you’ll have every reason to enjoy staying in there for as long as possible! Sharp Edge (sleeps 2) is a luxury first floor apartment with stunning views over the surrounding fells from every room. You can even lie in the bath and savour the delights of Sharp Edge on Blencathra. Furnished to a high standard, the apartment sleeps two people in an en-suite room. There is a comfortable living room with dining area and fully equipped kitchen. All linen and towels (one bath towel and one hand towel per person) are provided.
