Welcome to The Stable - a serene solo respite, artist’s retreat or unique getaway for 1 to 6 registered guests. Close to I-85 & I-40, Duke, NCCU and the downtown Durham scene. Quaint & artsy Hillsborough, funky & fun Chapel Hill/UNC and Carrboro are a short drive. Eno River State Park, hiking & biking trails, and the Mountains to Sea Trail are 2.5 miles away. Full of unexpected details, including an outside labyrinth, The Stable is a comfortable sanctuary for all who want to settle in and smile.

Twenty minutes to RDU Airport, five minutes to Duke's East Campus and ten minutes to West Campus, we are an easy walk to a range of locally-owned restaurants. Lovely, light-filled apartment has a bedroom, full kitchen and living area, bathroom, private entrance, and patio with seating. Occasionally, we may have first-floor space available at extra cost. Enjoy this new private suite in downtown Hillsborough with separate entrance. We are a 1/2 mile to restaurants and shopping on Churton Street. King bed, Full bath, kitchenette with microwave, Keurig coffee maker, tea kettle, wifi, Roku TV, small refrigerator, sitting area, and workspace. Truly a unique and comfortable place to stay. Enjoy wine and coffee on the front porch or visit the local downtown coffee shops and restaurants. Our space is best suited for adults.

Come stay in our private suite on the lower level of our home! We have a great location only 9 minutes drive to UNC and easy access to I-40 gets you to RDU and the airport easily. We provide high speed internet with ethernet hookup and mesh wifi with a dedicated workstation. Large flatscreen TV includes at least 3 streaming services and our personal digital movie library through Apple TV app. Fully stocked Keurig station with coffee, tea and the morning basics!

Located less than 5 minutes by car to downtown Durham with easy access for those who prefer to travel by bicycle or foot to the Ellerbee Creek trail. Centrally located to Duke University and Duke Medical. Perfect for longer stays for visiting professionals as well as shorter stays to enjoy all Durham has to offer.

Designed by the architect owner it has 270 degree views of the forest and is quiet and secluded yet minutes from some of the best restaurants on the East Coast. Contemporary art gallery available to browse at your leisure. Half the year the space is used as an artist residency and your rentals pay for this program.
