Working with clay is mesmerizing - and challenging. After a tour of the studio, guests will don aprons and sit down at their own wheels to "throw" up to 5 pieces. We work "hands-on," with each person to insure that you make at least 1 or 2 beautiful vessels. If you decide that you want to "finish" your pieces, there are 4 more steps: trimming, bisqueing, glaze and high-firing. The process takes about a month, and the potters at FIRESTICK will do this work for you for a fee of $15 per piece. This price includes a glazing class, if you'd like to come back within 3 months, or you may select your colors (from more than 40 finishes) and we'll glaze for you. After that, we can ship your pottery anywhere in the country. AS A SAFETY MEASURE, ALL POTTERY WORKSHOPS ARE LIMITED TO 8 PEOPLE. Wheels are placed far apart and masks are required. Our studio is "open-air" so dress appropriately! HAND-BUILDING and SCULPTING. Some guests (especially kids under 10) prefer "handbuilding," rather than "throwing on the wheel." If you'd like a teacher to work with you or your kids on hand-building, please let us know in advance. The fee is the same. Clay IS a Magical Material. Every student is different, and everyone receives individual instruction. You can make ANYTHING that you'd like, and our gallery will give you lots of ideas. OUR GOAL IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE SURFING - whether its your first time or you're trying to advance your skills. We'll get suited up in the wetsuits I provide, grab the surfboards (we offer boards in a variety of sizes to fit your needs) and head down to the sand. For the first 20-30 minutes we’ll be training on the beach, then it’s 60-80 minutes with an instructor in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun in the water. PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS: The classes are taught by myself or one of our great instructors. We usually have the 2nd instructor helping in the water when the group exceeds 6-7 people. Your safety is our main priority! All of our lead instructors are ISA (International Surfing Association), CPR & First Aid certified, we obtain Water Safety Specialists certificates (surfing instructor safety training) and I also completed 2 Level surf instructors program with ISA. PHOTOS: One of the instructors will try to take complimentary GoPro photos of you in and out of the water in the last 10-15 minutes of the experience. Keep in mind that it's not alway possible to get water shots due to safety reasons. These are not professional pics but a great memory for you, your friends and family. First 45min- hour of lesson: We will be on land and cover all of the basics, technique, and safety. The following 30-40 minutes: we'll be in the water together. I'll help you get into waves and give you instruction in the water to help you surf your first wave(s) The remaining time: you'll show what you've learned, We'll be a little more hands-off and either join you in the water or watch from the beach. I use a few different beaches in Malibu so the beach we will be meeting on will be based on the conditions for the day you come. The beaches that I use are between the famous Malibu Pier in Southern Malibu to Zuma Beach in the Northern part of Malibu. Start to finish is 1 1/2 hours. The first 20 minutes we will consist of a beach lesson on the sand where we will go over the basics of surfing. We will go over water safety, paddling, balancing and the proper technique of surfing. Then out in the water for the rest of the time catching waves. My goal is to have you catch as many waves as possible in the time we spend together. I also almost guaranty that you will stand up and ride many waves. Other things to note I will supply surfboards, wetsuits and lesson. This Experience can be booked any time during any day. The Tuning Fork healing session will take place on the beautiful beach, near Malibu. To begin your meditative healing, an intention-setting process will be carried out to set the tone for your healing space. Join art historian Nancy Real at The Getty Center for a 90-minute exclusive art tour! We'll begin our tour by viewing the center’s modernist buildings designed by architect Richard Meier. As we stroll through the galleries, we will explore the museum’s permanent collection (the museum’s original artworks) through viewing and conversation. We will view some of the following masters' works: Titian, Rembrandt, Gianlorenzo Bernini, Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh. This is an exclusive experience given that Nancy's background is in Art History. Nancy worked in the Education Department of the J. Paul Getty Museum for 20+ years and is a specialist regarding the museum’s collection. Our experience will take place at my music studio in North Hollywood, where I will teach you the basics of drumming. I'll teach you technique, we'll talk about the fascinating history of drums and you'll learn how to play to a few songs like “Hotel California” and “Purple Rain” to start. Some groups have learned really fast and we have done some more intricate songs such as “Seven Nation Army” or Michael Jackson's “Beat It”. A chance to enjoy a private and intimate tea any time of the year, surrounded by nature’s beauty and in the company of an array of hummingbirds! You’ll be welcomed to a garden shaded with ancient live oaks next to a babbling creek. There is a large established hummingbird population living in the oak trees above all year around. You’ll be seated under these magnificent live oaks and will be surrounded by dozens of hummingbirds (several different species) as you observe them come and go, zooming by your ears, feeding on nearby flowers, chattering, doing incredible aerial acrobatics. They’ve gotten used to people and will go about with their antics mostly undeterred in your company. These little flying jewels will buzz all around you; they’ll hover inches away so you can both take a closer look at each other. You’ll have a chance to take some great pictures. Tea (Iced tea available in the summer) and some simple sweet treats will be served as you observe their acrobatic flight up close and learn all about them! The garden is home to numerous other bird species; some of which you will surely encounter!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have one-on-one time with goats? See what it’s like to connect with them, by being among them and observing them up close, undisturbed? This is a small, intimate, therapeutic and relaxing experience, one that allows you to turn off and forget the outside World for a while. Research indicates that interaction with therapy animals can temporarily affect the release of various neurotransmitters in the brain. Oxytocin levels (linked with bonding) and dopamine levels (involved in the reward-motivation system) are increased, while cortisol levels (an immunosuppressant associated with stress) are decreased. They are very mild tempered and perfectly safe to be around, even for small children. You will be able to feed them treats, brush and groom them, we can also teach you how to milk them if interested (seasonally) and you will have the opportunity to try their milk. We can stay with you to answer your questions and tell you about our animals, or we can leave you with them for a private and intimate experience. High Horse Malibu offers private and semi-private (up to four riders) horseback rides in one of the most secluded and scenic areas in Malibu! Our trails traverse rolling hills, wooded canyons, and striking rock formations, with sweeping ocean vistas around every corner! A one of a kind experience you won't forget. Right after you book you'll receive an email from us collecting some basic info (physical stats, riding experience, etc.) so that we have the perfect horses tacked and ready when you arrive. Upon arrival you'll be introduced to your guide and acquainted with your horse. We start every ride off with a ten to fifteen minute riding lesson to get you comfortable and confidant. When everyone feels good - we hit the trail! There are plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the ride. Our goal is for everyone who rides with us to leave with an appreciation for horses and a love of riding! Things to note: If you plan to take an Uber or other ride share service - please make arrangements for pick up prior to being dropped off. We meet at the agreed location/beach. Surfboards will be provided and wetsuits can be rented additionally from the package. Class will begin with light stretching and some theory. We then talk a little bit about the surfboard and the ocean. After you will learn water safety and proper surf safety for entering and exiting the water. Once all basics are covered, we practice pop-ups on the sand correcting any positioning. Finally, we make it to the water to experience what we've learned and Surf some Waves!!! Plenty of time for photos after the lesson. If you've had prior experience to surfing, we can evaluate your skill level and continue from where you left off. Everyone is different. Please let us know what type of coaching you will need. Beginner - Advanced Surfboards are all soft top longboards. Other things to note Feel free to call for any immediate assistance or needs.

First, my guests will suit up in paint suits, rain boots, goggles and gloves. Then, we pick groovy tunes to paint by. Next, I'll have a bunch of balloons filled with paint they get to use in my custom built splatter zone. With a canvas on the easel, I'll show them a few ways we get to explode paint and create exciting abstract art. With the full body suits, some people enjoy getting painted on as well or even letting their friends, family or coworkers throw paint balloons at them through the explosion screen. This experience has two main stages; on the easel, getting the painting super covered with awesome splatter and then flat on the table or ground, where we'll go full Jackson Pollock. I guide people through the whole painting adventure, while taking photos and quick videos to remember the times.

Once you book your beach ride, we meet you the day of the ride at our ranch located in Summerland, CA. The beach ride is approx 90 minutes long total. We ride from our ranch through the trails down to the beach, we do cross on the over pass and there is a small section where we ride on a public road to get to and from the beach. Once we are on the beach we ride along the shore with the fresh air, cool breeze and salt water below our hooves. We then ride back through the trails to the ranch where we started. Other things to note: We do require all riders wear a helmet for safety. Please keep in mind, the ranch is a working ranch, with horses, dogs and our staff, we do have a portable restroom on-site and a picnic table. Please also note that our weight limit is 250lbs. If you book this experience and anyone in your group is over 250lbs, they will not be able to join the ride. This is for the safety of the horses and rider. We also ask that you please arrive 15 mins early to enjoy the entire experience. If you are late your group will have to leave without you as this is a group activity.

Prior to boarding, pose like a seasoned pro for a photo shoot with the airplane. Once you’re on board, the pilot will give you an overview of the instruments and controls. After getting clearance from the tower, you’ll taxi to the runway for takeoff. Once at cruising altitude, you’ll learn basic flying skills in the training area over the Simi Valley. Then, grab hold of the controls and feel free to move about the skies, exploring LA by air. Finally, in preparation for landing, you’ll come back down to earth at Van Nuys Airport. Other things to note IMPORTANT : This experience is currently only offered as a private experience. The guest has to book both spots on the experience and will be allowed to bring an additional guest to sit in the back seat. Only one guest will be in the front seat. Approximate flight time is 40 mins Expect a cancellation if there is bad weather. Only two passengers are allowed per ride to create a guest-focused experience.
