Relaxing private bush retreat Cottage Rustigue

Unwind and relax in this little home away from home. Rustigue is a play of words: ‘rustig’ is Dutch for tranquil; the style of the cottage is ‘rustic’ with a combination of all things to love: old, new, done up. The cottage is surrounded by rimu trees, native bush and ferns. It is well away from the main house and has its own driveway, so you have total privacy. Braemar Cottage is a fully self-contained spacious unit in the lovely Snells Beach. It has a gorgeous ocean view over Kawau Bay. Snells Beach is about an hour's north of Auckland and perfect for a quiet relaxed getaway. There are plenty of things to do nearby from visiting charming country cafes and wineries, or shopping at the local farmer's markets, or even taking a day trip to explore Kawau Island. If you want to explore or relax closer to the cottage, the beach is only 500m away.

At night the sky is full of stars. We have carefully crafted the cabins to provide a quirky off grid life and a tranquil experience where you can recharge in nature, read or play boardgames. The beach, along with shops and cafes are a 7 minute drive away and bush walks are just up the road.
