We will be very available 24/7 by phone and have a neighbor ready to help with any thing you may need, but we won't be here to greet you in person, since you'll be staying in our home, most likely you've booked the house during one of our visits to family.
The home is set in the Brightwood neighborhood of DC, two blocks away from Rock Creek Park’s walking paths, playground, and golf course. Restaurants, shops, and grocery stores are a short walk or drive away. Downtown Silver Spring is an 10-minute drive away. Our house is near two major north-south streets — 16th Street and Georgia Avenue — with buses running into the city along Georgia Avenue, 14th St. and 16th St. every few minutes. We're also a 15-minute walk to the Takoma Metro Station on the Metro's Red Line, or a 10-minute bus ride to the Georgia Ave. Metro Station on the Green and Yellow lines (with service to Reagan National Airport). D.C. is also bicycle-friendly; you'll find a map of bicycle trails in the apartment if you brought a bike, or you can rent a bicycle from a block away from our house.
You'll be able to park 2 cars right at the house. On week days, additional cars will need to be parked on the next block, where street parking is open and does not require a permit.
