Located on the banks of the Derwent it's exceptionally placed to walk by the river to Derby cathedral. Charming cosy character cottage tastefully renovated and opened to our first guests in March 2018. Located within a 2 minute walk from the centre of Melbourne, a beautiful georgian market town with a fabulous selection of pubs, restaurants & shops. It has an open plan kitchen, living room with log burner, 2 bedrooms (1 with a king size bed and 1 with a double bed) and a shower room (no bath). Outside there is a shared backyard and to the front of the property there is a shared picnic area.

The historic cottage is an ideal base from which to explore Derby, Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. NB: The bridge to the mills is currently closed, so access is via alternative routes.

"The Parlour" is a 2 bedroomed barn conversion sitting in a recently converted rural complex nestled in 76 acres of open fields and woodland with a 3 acre private fishing lake, right at the Heart of the National Forest. Just a few minutes drive from the historic town of Ashby de la Zouch with lots of boutique shops, bars and restaurants. Adjacent to Hicks lodge Cycle Centre and the many surrounding walks. A beautiful rural escape with everything you need for a truly memorable holiday.

Ideal for families, walkers, cyclists, gastro enthusiasts or perhaps those just looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, The Barn is a brand new, hand-crafted home built by the architect owner who lives in The Old Farmhouse next door. We also welcome well behaved dogs (we just request a modest fee of £20 per dog per stay)
