The Annex, Berwick, East Sussex

Light and spacious self-contained Annex, separate from the main house with it's own private entrance. Being within two miles of the South Downs National Park and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are surrounded by idyllic countryside, lovely villages and pubs, and only 6 miles from the sea. The Space: Our Annex is comprised of a spacious double bedroom, with king-sized bed and luxurious bedding, a large lounge, a shower room, and a kitchenette, equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, tea & coffee making facilities, washing machine and dryer. Breakfast included. We have two friendly dogs, who have access to our garden and house, but not The Annex. Guest Access: Private entrance. Disabled accessible throughout, including shower. Ample parking. Access to the back garden and patio on request, due to our two friendly dogs. Interaction with Guests: We are a friendly couple, who love to make our visitors welcome, and will also respect your privacy, as you prefer. The Neighbourhood: We are in a rural village, with a small railway station, two pubs, a Post Office and garage. Perfect for walking, cycling and exploring the many local sights, Berwick village train station is only two minutes walk away, with easy access to Brighton, Eastbourne and Lewes. Ample on-site parking means you can leave your car in our drive whilst you explore by foot, bicycle, or train. Local sites include the historic village of Alfriston; Beachy Head, the Cuckmere Valley and the Seven Sisters; Charleston Farmhouse; Firle Place; and Glyndebourne, to name just a few!

An easy ride from London, Lewes and Brighton, it's ideal for quick escapes, romantic breaks, poetic inspiration or combining city/culture with rural retreating. Great pubs, walks, the Downs, Glyndebourne, Charleston, Firle, Farley Farm all approx. 10 mins. Designed as a creative workspace, there's no TV but good WiFi: no streetlights, lots of stars.

Caburn Cabin is in Firle Village in the South Downs national park. Our spacious timber cabin sleeps up to four people. It has a warm rustic charm whilst being fully equipped with modern facilities. There is a rear private deck with seating. Ideal for romantic escapes or active holidays. Enjoy the outdoors by foot & bike direct from the cabin. The local pub & village shop are just 10 minutes walk. Perfect for Glyndebourne, Charleston & Firle weddings or explore nearby towns of Lewes or Brighton.

Snug Victorian Cottage in Heart of Alfriston Village

My house has been described as light and "cosy". It is filled with books, art and interesting things - it is very much a home from home, and not a holiday let. In the winter there is a log burner, in the summer a sunny flint walled garden. Nestled within the South Downs National Park this medieval village has independent and quirky shops, lots of choices of where to eat. Walks to enjoy - nearby is the sea, forest, vineyards, Downs or riverside. London 2 hours by car, 90 mins by train.

The Cart Lodge a cosy rural hideaway

Situated in a secluded part of our 16th century farm, this detached, south facing cart barn has been converted to a very high standard. In an ideal location overlooking a large duck pond and with distant views to the South Downs. It is a great base for walking the Wealdway or cycling the Cuckoo Trail. Places to explore include Lewes and Eastbourne, 9 miles. Glyndebourne 6 miles. An excellent pub and restaurant is within a ten minute walk along country footpaths. The village shop 2 miles.

Set in the tranquil foothills of the South Downs, Pegasus Shepherds Hut offers you a luxury off grid escape. Located on a beautiful organic arable farm surrounded by nature with stunning views makes for a peaceful, relaxing break. Pegasus is ideal for visiting one of the many attractions near by (including Charleston House, Rathfinny Wine Estate, Firle Place and the medieval village of Alfriston), a stopover on the South Downs Way, a weekend of walking or just some time out to relax.

If you can pull yourselves away from your woodland hideaway, the lovely village of East Hoathly isn’t far, with a cozy café, village shop, and friendly local pub to explore.

Escape the Christmas chaos and unwind in the cozy comfort of our houseboat, festively decorated in December. A romantic retreat for two floating on our peaceful one-acre lake in East Hoathly. Relax by the cosy log burner, cook in the fully fitted kitchen, and wake in a lake-view bedroom where nature’s magic surrounds you. Step outside to gentle ripples and wildlife, or visit East Hoathly with its village pub, café, and shop just minutes away when you can pull yourselves away.

Beautiful barn on the South Downs Way

Beautiful barn, perfect for walkers, also great as a comfortable and spacious base for exploring the local countryside. Local cultural attractions include Glyndebourne, Drusilla's Park, South Downs Way. This spacious artist's home is located right on the South Downs Way, and it is only about an hour and a half walk to the coast at Exceat. There is a tree house for kids, a couple of swing seats for chilling out on, and the Cuckmere runs through the bottom of the garden.

An ideal location for country walks and cycling with local restaurants and pubs nearby. Within easy reach of the coast, the towns of Lewes, Brighton and Eastbourne, Glyndebourne Opera House, Michelham Priory, and many other places of historic interest.

Garden Lodge, surrounded by garden and countryside

Garden Lodge is situated just off the South Downs Way on the edge of Alfriston village. Sited in the back garden of the main house there is access to a private patio area and to the garden. There is farm land bordering the property with views to the Downs. Numerous pubs, hotels and shops are just five minutes walk away in the village centre. It is very dark here at night so if you are not accustomed to it, think about bringing a torch.

Coes Farm offers 50 acres of absolute tranquillity in amongst nature, with a bit of luxury thrown in too! We have formal gardens and ornamental ponds, a large lake, plenty of woodland, open fields, an indoor saltwater swimming pool with hot tub, a tennis court and a games room which is resident in our Micro-Winery! We planted our 5 acre vineyard in Spring 2021 and extended the existing Orchard with cider varieties in 2023.
