The Old Paper Mill

Peaceful, romantic barn conversion in the grounds of an 18th century mill house on the river Wensum at Lyng Mill, North Norfolk. Swim in the river or light the wood burner - get back to nature in this cosy romantic setting. The Old Paper Mill was once the drying room for a Victorian paper Mill. It sits on the banks of the mill pond, a perfect wild swimming spot with its own outdoor shower. It is bright and airy in summer but warm and cosy in the winter months. We love dogs, all welcome.

Sleeps four, it’s located within easy reach of the North Norfolk coast, Norwich and the Norfolk Broads. The cottage is also 10-15 minutes’ drive to Roarr Dinosaur Park, Pensthorpe, and The Brisley Bell (voted Norfolk’s best pub). Visitors love the cottage because it’s cosy (there’s a wood burner) and full of homely touches including a freshly baked loaf on your arrival.

There are many pleasant local footpaths, walks and lanes to cycle on the doorstep; with the nearest coastal town of Wells-next-the-sea and the expansive North Norfolk coast just 25 minutes drive away.

The Barrel house has been lovingly restored to provide a stylish, multifunctional space for Airbnb guests. The vaulted ceiling adds to the feeling of space. All windows are double glazed and a velux roof window allows the daylight to flood in. Outside there is a private patio area with a bistro set for outdoor dining or enjoying sundowners. Nearby is the village shop, popular butchers and local pub. There are plenty of walks to enjoy nearby.

This recently renovated property gives travellers an excellent base from which to explore beautiful Norfolk.
