Lovely double bedroom near the sea

We offer a lovely room with a super comfy king size bed. Share breakfast with the family or at your leisure - we will try and tempt you with the delights of porridge and maybe even kippers if you are feeling adventurous although cornflakes and toast are also readily available! We are a family of 5 - a forester, marine biologist and 3 children aged 2,5 and 8. Light floods through large windows of our spacious and high-ceiling top floor apartment in a traditional Victorian building. Comfortably furnished and oak-floored throughout, the apartment is warmed by both central heating and a Swedish wood-burning stove. The apartment is located in Portobello neighbourhood, 5 minutes walk from an expansive stretch of sandy beach. The beach promenade boasts popular cafes and lovely tradition pubs. Portobello is known for its quirky residential lanes and independent shops - butcher, fishmonger, grocers, sweet and craft shops. It is a safe family area which has traditionally been a seaside holiday resort in the summer months. Very frequent buses take 30 minutes to reach the historic city centre with its castle, palace, museums, galleries, ghost tours, cashmere and whisky. But its always nice to come home - to the neighbourhood where the sky meets the sea.

The Courtyard Room sits upstairs within Ratho Park Steading: a stunning Scottish courtyard stable (built 1826; converted 2021). It borders Ratho Park Golf club (area of outstanding beauty), a walk from the heart of Ratho village, 8miles from Edinburgh centre. The large room is stylishly furnished (super king size bed), tv/wifi, and heated through ground source. The property has off-road parking with use of/ views into a beautiful courtyard. Breakfast is a cold self-served buffet in the 'Den'.

Direct access to city, airport and train station, bus stops outside house. Supermarket opposite which has a cafe, Free driveway parking available. Continental Breakfast provided in room. Room has sloping ceilings so maybe a problem for taller guests. Room is upstairs so not suitable for young children or disabled

Comfortable double room in north Edinburgh

The room is a large double, in a spacious, comfortable house. Free breakfast with booking. Toasts, cereals, fruit, and teas / coffee. It's really easy to get to from the city centre (15 mins), or the airport via bus no. 17. We're 20 mins walk from the coast, and walking distance to dene village or murrayfield. A beautiful family home for 3 generations of the same family in the heart of the city. We offer a cosy double ensuite room on the ground floor of the house. Please note: this is a family home, not a B&B. Lewis, Kate and their two young kids live on upper floors. Catherine (grandma) and Beau (the cat) live on the ground floor. Breakfast is self-service.
