Peaceful accommodation in rural Dorset

Accommodation is located just outside the village of Kington Magna, north Dorset between Shaftesbury, 7 miles, and Sherborne, 9 miles, and set in the owner’s grounds. Well situated for visits to the many National Trust properties in the area, the sea (about 45 mins), Bath and Salisbury (both 50 mins). Living area (kitchen/lounge) is on the first floor with double bedroom/ensuite bathroom and on ground floor twin bedroom/shower. Garden with patio and furniture. No smoking. One pet considered.

Cottage lovingly converted from a once gardeners shed and apple store which used to belong to the main house built in 1890 . Has a very National trust feel to the place wild flower beds have been created and in spring time the cottage looks onto the apple tree in bloom and daffodils. 15 square metres sunny gravel courtyard . To the side of the cottage is a victorian greenhouse with original vines that produce grapes and beds of Rosemary and thyme amongst the Rhubarb it's a real Cottage garden .

It’s also a very short drive to the popular Todber fishing lakes and historic Shaftesbury.

Cosy 1-bedroom cottage in Dorset

Welcome to peace and relaxation in my Grade II listed cottage in historic Shaftesbury. The self-catering cottage is in a unique gated courtyard near the foot of Gold Hill and is within a short walk of the town centre and a local pub. It is compact and therefore suitable for singles and couples (I do not accept 3rd party bookings), and we also welcome well-behaved pets. You will have use of a private enclosed garden a short walk from the cottage, and on-street parking is available nearby.

The Pavilion is a modern, purpose built holiday house in the quiet Somerset village of Yarlington. It has all the conveniences: Wood burning stove, underfloor heating, Washer & tumble dryer, Iron & ironing board, fast fibre optic broadband and a charging station for an electric or plug in hybrid car, but sadly the mobile phone signal is very poor. The house is next to the pub and a stones throw from the church. The Newt and Hauser Wirth Gallery in Bruton are within a 15 minute drive.

Fully accessible by car on a gravel laid plot with parking. Development of 2 huts. Nearest town is Gillingham with main line train station. Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Frome, Longleat safari park, The Newt in Somerset, National Trust Stourhead and Kingston Lacey and Dorset coast all within 30 miles

A stunning late 19th century workers cottage converted from a barn. If peace and tranquillity are what you are after, then look no further. Marnhull is situated in Blackmore Vale, one of Dorset’s best kept secrets. Far reaching countryside views over the Blackmore Vale and just a short walk from one of the two pubs in the village. Post Office and village store nearby . Numerous walks nearby, Stourhead, medieval Sherbourne and the famous Gold Hill at Shaftesbury or the Jurassic Coast.

The Cabin

The cabin is located in the garden of the Old School House in a countryside location. It is simple but elegantly furnished with an ensuite shower room. There are plenty of sockets, lighting and its own strong wi-fi connection. It is cosy, clean and comfortable with a microwave, mini fridge, kettle and toaster. We have provided tea, instant coffee and the basics that you may require for breakfast on the first day. There isn’t a full kitchen or any cooking facilities at the cabin.
