A studio/efficiency apartment on the lower level of a small house built in 2019, with a separate bath & outdoor patio in a peaceful, rural setting in the western NC mountains . Within 40 minutes of lots to do. The area was heavily impacted by hurricane Helene on 9/28/24. The space was de-listed to make it available for volunteers here to help with recovery. It has been reactivated as of 3/12/25. Pets are considered on a case by case basis. Include pet info with your inquiry.

Come share our private beach on lake James. Brand new apartment with access to the lake. Bring your boat, jet ski or kayak. Public boat launch less than a mile away or rent one from the marina. Private gated community with community pool and dock. There are two state parks and dozens of bike and hiking trails along the lake shore . Mt Mitchell, the highest mountain east of the Rockies and Linville falls and gorge are each less than an hours drive away.

Patty's Place

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Patty's Place has very limited furniture but can be used as temporary housing with air mattresses. The home is clean and spacious and centrally located. Any furniture in the unit is shown in the photos. There is a futon bed, a dinette table with 4 chairs, a living room chair, one coffee table and one end table, a work desk and a dresser. No linens or towels are provided. There is no room service.

Enjoy morning views with coffee, evening drinks on the balcony, starlight at the fire pit and lazy days of swimming, picnicking, kayaking, or fishing from our private dock, no boats. Access to the community pool is just minutes away. Our area offers lots of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, rock climbing, tubing, water sports, and nearby boat rentals for a day out on the clear, crisp, water.

Deep Woods Studio

Enjoy our peaceful ground-level apartment. My house is located just outside of town in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. You can visit Lake James or the riverside Greenway, but you will get plenty of nature right in the yard. I love feeding the birds and other critters so you will see bluejays, cardinals, squirrels, deer, and one very fat groundhog.
