Little Trout, Nether Wallop: an oasis of calm

Little Trout is the annex to a 17th century thatched cottage. A one-bedroom flat with fully equipped kitchen, large shower and comfortable sitting room, it is perfect for a trip to West Hampshire and the Test Valley. You will find an oasis of calm in a busy world where you can relax in comfort after an active day visiting the many sites of historic interest or admiring our beautiful local scenery. Almost all our guests have told us that the bed is the most comfortable they have ever slept in!

This is a great spot for a midweek or weekend getaway, also ideal for professional seeking Midweek accommodation local to work. It is self contained with separate access & parking. The accommodation consists of shower room, kitchenette, double bed on mezzanine floor, lounge area,TV, fire stick, log burner, armchairs & desk. It is in the grounds of our private house with the Wallop Brook running through the garden. I do not provide breakfast but do provide complimentary,tea,coffee,milk & biscuits

Down a little no through lane this self contained annexe to our house is on the Monarch's Way in a quiet, rural position just 3 miles from the cathedral city of Salisbury. The River Bourne runs close by. The ground floor annexe has a modern but peaceful bedroom with en-suite shower, separate kitchen/living area with double doors on to the patio & a sitting room with sofa bed. Parking for one or two cars. Convenient for anyone working at Porton Down & is 10 minutes from Salisbury by car.

Just 5 minutes walk to 2 village pubs and an excellent award-winning, well stocked village shop and post office. Conveniently located to explore Iron Age forts, Stonehenge, Avebury, the bustling market town of Stockbridge, the Cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, the New Forest and the South Coast. London Waterloo is an hour by train. A perfect escape!

With a welcoming pub and a community shop within walking distance you have the freedom to eat out or bring provisions back to cook in the well-equipped kitchen. Whether you enjoy walking (we are midway on the Clarendon Way) cycling, fishing or fancy day trips out, Winchester Salisbury New Forest and plenty of National Trust properties are all within easy reach.

The Annexe Over Wallop, Stockbridge

Over Wallop is a small village and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, close to the border with Wiltshire. Located close to Stockbridge famous for fly fishing and a variety of eateries. It is an easy driving distance to the historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury. The annexe offers a large open plan area to relax and dine in with a separate kitchen. A double bedroom with ensuite shower and separate WC. Well furnished with WiFi and onsite parking.

Colindale Cottage, Nether Wallop

Located between the historic cities of Winchester and Salisbury ,Colindale Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Test Valley and beyond. Stonehenge, Highclere Castle and the New Forest are close by. The coast is approx and hour away. Dogs are welcome. Nether Wallop is a pretty village in the heart of the Test Valley close to the small town of Stockbridge with its independent shops and eateries. Nether Wallop featured in the Miss Marple series starring Joan Hickson.

Our dog-friendly annexe has an ensuite bedroom, with a second ensuite bedroom available on request, and living-room with well appointed kitchenette in a self-contained, ground-floor wing of charming house in a large peaceful garden in Nether Wallop, a pretty village within easy reach of Stockbridge, Porton Down, Andover, Romsey, Stonehenge and the Cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester. Guests have an independent front door/key and free parking in the drive.

Owls Lodge is an idyllic retreat for two. Completed in 2016 the Lodge is both comfortable and stylish. Located within the garden of the farmhouse, this fantastic lodge has been finished in a contemporary way with relaxation in mind. Situated down a short gravel track along the Clarendon way which is on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border, Owls lodge is perfectly positioned for long peaceful walks and cycling. Andover station 1.5 miles, London 1hr by train. Easy access A303/M3. I use this as a workspace and spare space for family when they visit, but also rent it out on Airbnb from time to time.
