The lodge is down an old unmade road away from the village with no other roads or traffic. It’s a perfect stay to get away from the busyness of everyday life with no street lights just dark skys perfect for watching the stars. A great location for cycling with many cycle paths nearby. Swallows Nest is situated in the countryside, with views up to Caradon Hill, you can see the old Phoenix Tin Mine from the lounge window, now derelict, but worth a visit! It is easy to get to both the North, and South coast from Swallows Nest, giving you access to many of Cornwall's beaches and lovely little ports. Welcome to the Cow Shed. We are located in the village of Upton cross. The property is at the end of our garden but completely private with its own entrance and own patio. Our home is surrounded by a working farm which is home to a herd of cows for most of the year, some are shy but others a bit cheeky and will pop there heads over the wall to be nosey. We are based right on the edge of Bodmin moor with views of the cheese rings and Sharptor, we have a local pub and shop .

Our small south facing shepherd’s hut sits within its own private acre garden in Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoy the views inside the hut, sit on the decked veranda or relax inside the recently added seating/dining pod & cook using the new outdoor kitchen. Discreetly sited, yet encapsulating views of the World Heritage Site. Close to all Bodmin Moor attractions, yet also not far from Looe, Polperro, Tintagel, Padstow or the Eden Project.

Enjoy your stay in a friendly village. Lots of mining history and an abundance of walking trails nearby. Only a 5 minute drive/ 15 minute walk to the local pub where you can have a delicious meal and a pint overlooking the beautiful scenery of common moor. The historic fishing town of Looe is a 15 minute drive away, or city of Plymouth around 30 minutes. There is plenty to do and see, near and far if you would like to explore Cornwall and Devon.
