The hills offer excellent exploring + hiking from the doorstep. Enjoy stunning views and picnic spots - enjoy the great outdoors and bring the kids! Explore Edinburgh (only a short drive) or picnic on the nearest hill top, then return to sooth your tired legs in the wood fired sauna yurt. This artist and architect-designed house is clad in larch and well insulated with wool felts. The access to the separate loft of our eco-house is via an external staircase. A large south facing window in the main room overlooks the front garden and Shiplaw burn. There is a separate workspace/single bedroom for an extra guest. We are located within one of the biggest habitat restoration projects in Europe and are five minutes walk from a regular bus service to Edinburgh and across the Borders.
