Soweto is known for its vibrant culture, rich history and pivotal role in South Africa's journey to freedom, this Walking tour offers you an immersive experience into the heart of this iconic township, with the opportunity to explore the bustling streets, meeting the locals and indulge in our local culinary delight with a Sowetan Native Guide. Our tour begins at the Hector Peterson Memorial, where you will learn about the significance of the 1976 Soweto Uprising, a significant turning point in the Apartheid system. We will then walk down Moema Street, retracing the steps of the historic march. As we continue down Vilakazi Street, we will visit Nelson Mandela's house, where you will have 20 minutes to explore inside where he lived until he's 27 years imprisonment (entrance fee not included). Next, we will stop at Desmond Tutu's house, another landmark in Soweto's history. Following this visit, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local shop. After lunch, we will take a minibus taxi to Orlando East, giving you a taste of the local mode of transport to the famous Soweto Towers. Our final stop will be at an informal settlement called Nomzamo Park, where you will gain insight into the daily lives of many Soweto residents.

Experience the heart of Johannesburg on a walking tour. Given the city’s reputation, this is a perfect opportunity to explore the city's hidden gems and rich history with a local guide. this tour begins in Gandhi Square, then uncover the city's gold mining history through Main Street, showcasing Johannesburg's stunning architecture. As we continue, we’ll discuss the city’s current condition and politics. Our tour continues to Ferreirasdorp, sometimes referred to as the "cradle of Johannesburg", where the first gold diggings started, and where the first diggers initially settled. Then Chancellor House, where Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo established their first black-owned law firm. We continue our walk to Newtown, one of the city’s creative neighbourhoods, visiting the Workers Museum, to gain insight into the city's Migrant labour history. Then Market theatre and it’s rich history of cultural, street art, galleries, and cultural spaces. this walk will lead us to the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge for stunning views and a perfect photo opportunity, connecting us to the diverse neighbourhoods of Johannesburg. We'll conclude our tour in the area of Braamfontein, a new artistic hub known for its youthful energy that impact the rich culture of Johannesburg! Our Johannesburg Nightlife Experience is An Experience that offers you the ability to really explore Joburg's nightlife with local people. Our hosts are Malone (male) and Cepho (female) , The experience can be run by women only if some ladies feel more comfortable that way. #NB This is a bottle service kind of experience The Experience takes you around Johannesburg's key party hubs from: Rosebank Melville Braamfontein Mabonang These areas are famous for different vibes in the city & are all unique and you will be exploring most of them with us on the night. Your host will be selecting the spaces to visit according to the vibe on the day you book& Your interests so it's important to reach out as soon as you make a booking so that such information may be communicated. Create a custom bomber jacket / an African print clothing item experience - from concept to finished garment Explore Johannesburg’s fashion district like never before. The Fashion Capital and the historical fashion square are located in the old Johannesburg city. The designer will walk with you to fabric shops in the inner city, where you will select a unique African print that you love from hundreds of options. You will then meet a member of his design team and have your measurements taken. You will collaborate with them on the creation of your custom African print item. The experience is paired with a photoshoot in the trendy neighborhood of Maboneng and ends with a local food lunch in the city, all included. See this as a souvenir of the city, @caraci_clothing on IG 1. Choose a unique African print from one of our local fabric stores (fabric included). 2. Learn how to take body measurements for the making of clothing garments. 3. Cut the pattern and pieces for your custom bomber jacket or any other item made in African print (discuss with us via messages on the possibility) 4. Learn basic stitching and hand sewing in a practical lesson, (expert studio assistants will make and complete garment ). 5. While you enjoy lunch, your bomber jacket will be completed by our assistants. 6. You'll star in a street photoshoot wearing your custom creation Time flexible

Join me on a bicycle tour through the vibrant and historical streets of Soweto. We’ll cycle in Orlando East and Orlando West. We'll kick off our ride at my bicycle store called BOOK IBHONI which is located in Vilakazi Street. The street that's known for having two Nobel prize winners. During the tour, we'll explore key sites such as the Nelson Mandela house, Desmond Tutu's residence, the Hector Pieterson Museum and other attractions like the YMCA hall where Nelson Mandela trained his boxing, in Orlando East. We will also visit an adventure spot where people do bungee jumping, wall climbing, or free falling. For our lunch break, we'll enjoy a Kota, a unique street burger-like, made with a loaf of bread cut into quarters and filled with fries, mini sausages, cheese and a spicy salad. The Kota is our local favorite. Feel free to bring small bills for optional tips for the street performers at these stops. Tips are not compulsory. We do have safe parking if you are driving to us. The bicycle tour route is easy but a little bit hilly too.

We will meet at a historical place the Hector Pieterson Memorial site which is mostly about the 1976 student uprising which was a turning point in our history and walk down the most famous street in South Africa,Vilakazi street the only street with two Nobel peace prize recipients who are Dr Nelson Mandela and The Arch Bishop Tutu.The look out point where you can get a birds view of Soweto and how big it is and get to see the iconic Orlando towers which will be one of our stops .Jump into a mini bus like the locals do,then lunch time you get to eat what the locals call lunch,browse our beautiful ,colorful markets and meet some of our elders who played an instrumental role in our liberation. After all you have absorbed about Soweto online in news papers come join me and get the real picture

On arrival at the Greenroots Gallery, you will receive a welcoming introduction and start the wine tasting to get your creative juices flowing. As you sip away and get inspired you will do a creative expression exercise followed by a step-by-step session of creating your own artwork in red wine. We tend to adapt our sessions and subject matter according to the interest and creative ability of the guest. This experience is perfect for a social group activity be it for team building, birthdays, or even a bachelorette. At the end of the session, you may take your artworks home as souvenirs. Duration: 2h-2h30min I suggest using Uber or a taxi service to transport you to and from the Winery as wine goes quicker to our heads than we think. Guests meet with us at the Westminster Mansions for the 3 pm tour & 20 Kruger Street, City and Suburban (home to our Maboneng offices, near 12 Decades ), for the 5 pm tour, where we gather to start the tour and get briefed about the day and what to expect and what the tour will entail to manage expectations and find out if there are any allergies or special dietary requirements. Areas we will cover: Option 1: Berea, Yeoville Option 2: Maboneng, Jewel city & access city Stop 1: Our first stop is where we meet depending on which tour you are doing; option 1 will be at 3 p.m. @ Westminster Mansions, Highland Street, Yeoville. Option 2 will be 20 Kruger Street, City and Suburban, home to our Maboneng . Stop 2: South African cuisines, The inner city of Johannesburg is made up of many African immigrants we will start with Southern African cuisine. Stop 3: Ethiopian coffee with a delicious meal will be served at our 3rd stop. Stop 4: Ghana - west Africa brings a mouth-watering mix of numerous flavors. Stop 5: Shopping at an African Market with food from all over the continent, the guest will be given a chance to shop. Stop 6: Here we will either have a Congolese meal or a Nigerian meal depending on the group. Braamfontein - or just "Braam" to locals - is one of the most hip, cool, contemporary and culturally rich areas in the city! We meet at the lovely LOCO Mexican Restaurant where you can grab something tasty to eat or drink before we begin! From here, we head onto the streets of "Braam" where we trace its history while admiring the mixture of old and new buildings and the impact of the colourful Street Art on the development of the area. As we move along the streets, we chat about the day-to-day happenings of the area and how the migrant nature of the city's residents has played a role in shaping the way Braamfontein is today! Along the way we go into a Pan African book shop, visit a local streetwear design store, pop into a graffiti & vinyl shop all while taking in the energy and culture of this area! We finish off at the second oldest licensed bar in Johannesburg, the iconic Kitcheners Carvery Bar (or just "Kitcheners" to locals) - it's rich in history and a very popular night time spot for locals who enjoy the Joburg underground party scene! With a history closely linked to the development of Street Culture in the city from 2000 onwards, this is a really cool experience to do if you want to know more about the development of contemporary street culture in Johannesburg! NB! This experience ends at The Playground Market on Saturdays i.e. food, music, arts & craft etc.!

Cover more ground than you would on a walking tour while remaining close to the city streets on this half-day guided bicycle tour, complete with a traditional kota sandwich lunch. You'll not only learn about Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, and Hector Pieterson but about the women who helped topple apartheid, such as Liliian Mgoyi and Winnie Mandela. Start your cycling tour in Orlando West, to learn how Soweto was started in 1904 and share the history of this Township. Continue to Mama Lilian Ngoyi's house, an anti-apartheid activist. Cycle to Hector Pietersen Museum where the Soweto uprising transpired which was one of the turning points of apartheid. This tour will get you closer to all the highlights of Soweto. See the Mandela House, where Nelson Mandela lived from 1946 to 1962. Then, pass by Tutu House on Vilakazi Street, where Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his family once resided. Talk about the Nobel Laureate's contribution to apartheid's downfall in South Africa. Give your feet a break by stopping for lunch. Taste South African sandwiches called kota before cycling back to the starting point.

No sketching experience required- Beginners, kids & families welcome :) Great for groups, great for teams and great for team-building. This experience uncovers the trendy hotspots of Sandton CBD and revisits its rich monuments of old. We will meet on the Sandton Gautrain plaza (95 Rivonia Road Sandown) for an introduction & some warm up sketching exercises as we take in the vibrancy of the various dynamics of the CBD and the cutting edge architecture of the Sandton Precinct. We will then explore West Str- guests get a chance to see the city transform through new developments & get a sense of a genuine Sandton streetscape. We will head through vibrant Rivonia rd and 5th Str, absorbing incredible views of the architecture and street scape citynd offer great opportunities to sketch. Several great cafes & surrounding installations within Sandton CBD Precinct offer a chance to wind down thereafter. The needs of the group and daily factors means that the experience is always different, whether you have not picked up a pencil since childhood or are a seasoned artist, it is always an adventurous & eye opening way to explore this incredible example of a redeveloping city and its inhabitants & interact with it creatively and imaginatively.

Start: 89 Helen Joseph Street, corner Rissik Street, Marshalltown Visitors receive a short overview of our work with local booksellers, Johannesburg’s iconic place as a setting and inspiration in South African literature, and a discussion of where the walk will be going. Along the way, the walk will see a religious bookseller, the site of the original Central News Agency building, and then visit James Findlay Collectibles at the Rand Club (please note, the club is sometimes closed for private functions). Then we visit booksellers in street markets, a spaza shop, a Nigerian importer, and the exterior of the beautifully renovated City Library. The library is currently closed for repairs. The visit explains how books move through the underground economy, and discusses the history of bookselling Johannesburg -- from the first black-run library, through the days of censorship and book burning, to the ways new modern readers find books in inventive ways. Other things to note: The walk lasts about three hours, but is mostly flat and goes at a leisurely pace. Inside some of the older buildings, there are no ramps or elevators.

Join me for a Pilanesberg National Park experience which is one of the most fascinating Big 5 game reserves located 2.5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg, and is also the most accessible being in a malaria free environment. Pilanesberg is the fourth largest national park in South Africa and covers an area of 55 000 hectares. It is home to a wide variety of southern Africa’s animals like; the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo and lion), cheetahs’ giraffe’s, zebras, hyenas, wild dogs’ crocodiles, antelopes, and some 300 bird species to name a few. This is a thrilling experience to view wildlife in their natural inhabitant, with the presence of professional rangers who will share their extensive knowledge about the park’s fauna and flora throughout the safari. The safari will be in an open safari vehicle. This tour will require a minimum of 4 passengers to commence, please inquire before booking.
