Cwt Glo eco cottage Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)/ Zip World

Cwt Glo is a cosy and peaceful cottage for two in Northern Snowdonia nestled between two mountain ranges the Carneddau and Glyderau. Cwt Glo is situated in a small village near Bethesda called Mynydd Llandygai. There is private off road parking next to the cottage. Cwt Glo is Welsh for Coal house and the cottage was the place where the coal was weighed and measured. The property has been both a farm and coal yard for the local area. Cwt Glo is a semi sustainable/off grid cottage it has a solar and wind system however there is the backup of mains electricity. There is also an LPG central heating and hot water system. The cottage has a wood burning stove to keep you cosy and warm in the evening after a busy day exploring the local area. We also provide the wood for your stay.

This traditional quarrymans cottage is full of character, with lots of quirky features, well situated to make the most of what Snowdonia has to offer, 10 minutes stroll along Lon Las Ogwen cycle path to Zip World, Europes longest zipwire. Due to our spectacular location we are perfectly suited to those seeking adventure. A cosy, self contained apartment, just 20 minutes from the foot of Snowdon. A mere 5 minutes from Europe’s longest and fastest zip line at Zip-World and 30 minutes from the beautiful island of Anglesey. The property sleeps 4; Consisting of a double bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living area. It has a fully functional kitchenette with small dining area. We are dog friendly and welcome house trained dogs.

It offers a tranquil setting with ten acres of gardens, lake and woodland, the perfect place to relax after exploring the surrounding area. Close to the border of Snowdonia National park, Arosfa is a 10 min walk to local amenities in the village of Bethesda and short walk from world famous Zip World. Arosfa is also situated on the famous Snowdonia Slate trail and an ideal stop for those walking the 83 mile circuit.

Bethesda is home to Europe’s largest zip wire (Zip World) & is famous for its slate quarry. We are just a 5 minute drive from the mountain pass & 10 minutes into the city of Bangor.

The Bunkhouse is located in a quiet hamlet and has a separate entrance keeping it completely private. It overlooks a meadow and the river Ogwen. A stone building now renovated and equipped to provide comfortable accommodation for two people. Bunk beds - linen - en-suite -towels -TV - Tea & Coffee. A fridge is available in a nearby outhouse. Well placed to discover Snowdonia, nearby hills, mountains, cycle paths, walks and climbs, and also ZipWorld Velocity 2 which is only a short walk away.

The cottage has been completely renovated and also features a beautiful sunny garden and patio with plenty of space to sit and relax outside. Bethesda village centre is within walking distance and has a Tesco supermarket (open 7 days a week until late), pubs and a good choice of takeaways.
