16th Century Scottish Borders Tower, by Earlston

Mary Queen of Scots stayed here when she toured her domains in the ancient Scottish Borders. The Tower rooms are in an old defensive tower (dating from 1574 on a site occupied since the 12th century). Enter a huge stone entrance, into an inner panelled hall & up a private door a narrow staircase to a tiny sitting area with shower room & kitchenette off. Finally up a spiral stone staircase leading to a romantic upper chamber. Medieval and bijoux - be the Laird or Lady of the House for the night.

Romantic Medieval Castle

Barns Tower is an authentic medieval mini castle with roaring log fires and all modern comforts. The Tower is located in a beautiful rural setting on the River Tweed and is an ideal location for exploring the Scottish Borders. Peebles is nearby with great amenities and there’s heavenly walks right from the door. Please be aware that The Tower is located at the end of a rural track and due care should be taken with speed and approach. The Tower is arranged over 4 floors with steep staircases.

The Tower consists of a double bedroom and shower room on the ground floor, with stairs up to an open-plan living, dining and kitchen are on the first floor. The Lothian Wing at Ferniehirst Castle

A private wing within of the historic 400 hundred year old Ferniehirst Castle , once the kitchens to the castle and latterly a private apartment of the late Lord & Lady Lothian. Staying feels like becoming special guests welcomed into the Clan Kerr’s home, surrounded by the families’ treasured photos, belongings and memorable artifices. It is steeped in Scottish history, has stunning views and only 1 ½ miles from the town of Jedburgh it is an ideal location to explore the Scottish Borders.

Glenburnie at Thirlestane Castle

This charming one-bedroom apartment is set in the heart of the South Wing. It takes its name from the moor behind the castle that is resplendent in purple heather during late summer and early Autumn. Glenburnie was also the name of a horse bred by the Maitland family which went on to become European Champion in three-day eventing and which was ridden by local eventer Ian Stark. A portrait of the horse is reflected back into the sitting room by a large mirror in the hallway.

Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The antique four poster bed, deep roll top bath and open fire evoke earlier times, but are truly comfortable and luxurious. An elegant table is set for breakfast. Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

The Sculleries at Thirlestane Castle

Formerly the sculleries for Thirlestane Castle, this part of the South Wing has been beautifully transformed into a high-end one-bedroom apartment. Accessed from the mezzanine of the castle’s Cobbled Courtyard, guests look out over the castle gardens to the rear with double-height windows throughout. The traditional flagstone floor in the hallway is a reminder of the apartment’s past, as is the historic mangle which has been re-purposed into a beautiful hallstand.

The historic Branxholme Castle which originates back to the 14th century. The Castle is situated in the beautiful Scottish Borders just outside Hawick. The property comprises of 2 Holiday Cottages, bed & breakfast Coffee Shop and Spa. We also cater for weddings and events. This luxurious apartment has been lovingly restored in the South Wing in an area of Thirlestane Castle that was once the old laundries. Classic Singer sewing machines reflect the apartment’s past whilst large, dramatic, family portraits in the main reception room offer a sense of grandeur.

This apartment was formerly the private quarters of the 14th Earl and Countess of Lauderdale and most recently the castle nurseries. It has been exquisitely restored into a three-bedroom apartment, perfect for small groups and families. Accessed by one of the castle’s grand sweeping staircases, its position on the second floor means there are fabulous views of the parkland from the large full height windows.
