The Carthorse Barn is a two bedroom barn conversion, sitting in the heart of the Cotswold lakes on a working smallholding with a small number of pigs and hens. The Cotswolds lakes offer a host of activities including water skiing, cable skiing, archery, shooting, paintballing, golf, angling, horse riding, sailing, canoeing and paddle boarding. Just five miles away lies the market town of Cirencester, regarded as the heart of the Cotswolds, a perfect place for fine dining or shopping.

The village has all the amenities such as two shops, three pubs serving good food, post office, chemist, takeaway Indian and chip shop. The village is close to the historic town of Cirencester and other famous attractions in the Cotswolds as well as the Spa town of Cheltenham. The property is ideally situated to make the most of the Cotswold water park and it’s facilities as well as numerous walks and cycle paths.

NEWS - the 16th-century Wild Duck Inn in Ewen reopens its doors in March 2026 after an extensive restoration programme. Unwind in this beautiful Cotswold stone lodge located at the end of a long farm track in the grounds of Ewen Barn, Ewen. Peaceful yet just three miles from the bustling market town of Cirencester, this is the perfect retreat. The architect-designed property won the 2022 Cotswold Design Awards House of the Year. Our property was lovingly completed in 2021.

Outside, your sun-soaked spot overlooks the croquet lawn (you’re welcome to play). Walk the Thames Path, paddle on the lakes or just pour a drink and unwind. It’s calm, cosy and made for two. A spacious self contained suite with a lounge area, single bedroom and en-suite shower room, it's the perfect retreat to escape to the countryside and explore what the beautiful Cotswolds has to offer.
