Anchor cottage, an Historic Home and now with EV charger, is a delightful period, cottage situated in the heart of The Anchorage, once known as Mersea City on Mersea Island. It has three bedrooms, a large double, a twin room and a downstairs single bedroom. The bathroom is on the ground floor and large sitting/dining room with a gas heater and provides plenty of space for five people indoors and there is a private, wrap around garden with BBQ area that enjoys the sun at most times of the day.

This apartment is situated within the main building of the Tower but benefits from its own private entrance and is completely self-contained. With its own beachside garden and breathtaking uninterrupted views of the wildest of Essex creeks and marshes, the cottage is only to be reached on foot atop a sea wall. The perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The last in a row of westerly facing cottages, perfect to watch the evening sun go down . From the front garden or even laying in bed, watch the tide slip in and out, the fishing boats come and go and live, for a while, in a world moving at a slower pace.

Recently converted Nissen Barn on beautiful farm

The recently converted Nissen Barn is located on a farm in its own private meadow. The barn is surrounded by the beautiful Essex countryside - rolling hills, ancient trees, wildflowers and grasses, hedgerows, horses and sheep. The conversion was completed in March 2021 and sleeps 4 adults in 2 big bedrooms. There is also a loft bedroom accessed by a hidden door with a king size mattress suitable for older children or a couple. Perfect for families, but note there is no enclosed garden.

Tuck away next to the Wivenhoe woods (upper Wivenhoe), this lovely self-contained studio flat provides comfortable accommodation throughout. The studio is on a cul-de-sac, with its own entrance. It is just a short walk to the University of Essex via Wivenhoe Public pathway. The the train station is also only 15 minute walk away through the Wivenhoe trail. Ideal for 1-2 guests, but a baby or small chid is welcome (providing that you bring your own travel cot & bedding with you).

The village itself has 2 pubs and lots of walking routes nearby. Paper Mill Lock is a pleasant 30 min walk and has water sport facilities and tea room. Footpath maps available. Travel cot or single fold out guest bed avail on request, no additional cost.

St George’s Cosy Cabin with Jacuzzi Hot Tub

The cabin is situated behind our house down a privately owned lane surrounded by woods and farmland and consists of 1 double bedroom but can easily sleep 2 adults and 2 small children. Cot, highchair and 2 single airbeds are also available. It boasts a large patio with quality furniture solely for guests' use. The jacuzzi is an added luxury and £15 is requested during your stay if used. There is a large fully stocked fishpond of which guests are welcome to feed.
