Stroll over fields, through woodlands or have a picnic amongst the sheep, taking in the views. Then cosy up by the campfire or fire up the BBQ. Situated in the heart of North Devon with easy access to the towns Barnstaple, Bideford & Torrington, & Devons best beaches close by incl Westward Ho, Saunton, Croyde & Woolacombe.

The Tarka Suite

We live in a quiet location situated on the outskirts of Barnstaple, tucked away in a quiet residential area. Nearest amenities are approx 15 min walk. “The Tarka suite”is made up of 3 seperate rooms plus a covered garden room with electric points. There is a king sized bed, 2 seater sofa, a small dining area and small well equipped kitchen area which includes a std fridge, a ninja twin drawer acti fry and single hob. Crockery, pans and cutlery are provided. Use of hot tub at extra cost.

THE POTTING SHED

The Potting Shed, totally secluded, set in an 18th Century Victorian Walled Garden. We offer high class accommodation, a total retreat, with incredible views. Offering Kitchen / living room c/w wood burner, TV/DVD, patio doors to private patio BBQ area, bedroom, ensuite shower/toilet/basin under floor heating throughout. Ideal for romantic breaks, couple holidays, anyone with a passion for gardens, or wanting to totally unwind in secluded surroundings. Electric Car charging point available.

Church Ford Cottage - beautiful 17thC. thatch

Church Ford Cottage is a unique and picturesque 17th century thatched cottage in the heart of beautiful North Devon. It is self-contained and offers everything for a relaxing stay. The interior is cosy and retains original features such as a bread oven, fireplace and beamed ceilings, with all the comforts of a modern kitchen and bathroom. Beautiful guest house just outside Umberleigh in North Devon, in the heart of the Taw Valley. Our guest house is situated atop a hill with panoramic views of the surrounding scenery and historic Tarka Trail. Fully self-contained building, patio and parking area. Fully fitted kitchen and living room, with a separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Underfloor heating coupled with a log burning fireplace for chilly days. Only a short drive to some stunning beaches and marvelous countryside.

Discover the beauty of North Devon while staying at our characterful cottage, dating back to the 17th century. With countryside views, quiet village location and 3 acres of private field and woodland that you're welcome to use - perfect for morning walks or for children to go exploring. Tarka Pottery is our onsite pottery experience studio, discount for guests - throw a pot using a potters wheel, paint pottery or get creative with hand building in clay. Booking is required.

Stargazing Retreat is a lovely secluded one bedroom cabin with a hot tub, countryside views and a log burner, making it an ideal retreat at any time of year. Located in the unspoilt North Devon countryside between Okehampton and Great Torrington, the retreat is somewhere to escape to and enjoy all the countryside has to offer. Ideally situated to explore Dartmoor, both North & South Devon coasts and Cornwall beyond.

The Barn at Port Farm

The Barn at Port Farm is a unique and generous studio space. Originally a threshing barn, but recently converted by the owners into a modern space which respectfully retains the character and proportions of the original barn. The eclectic mix of quirky, vintage objects and art give the Barn its unique character. A perfect hideaway for couples looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

Blackbird Barn

Blackbird barn is set in rolling Devon countryside within easy reach of Great Torrington, Bideford and Barnstaple. Situated within our grounds the barn is self contained and separate from the main house. The accommodation includes a comfortable and cosy sitting room with dining area, a well equipped kitchen, a downstairs bathroom and a double bedroom upstairs.
