Join our master artisans to learn the art of gilding, or covering an object in gold leaf. • Start with a behind-the-scenes tour of the workshop, looking over some of the tools and projects we have used over the past 165 years and watching master gilders in action. • Next, you’ll get your own wooden photo frame. I’ll guide you through the process of preparing the surface and applying a primer to ensure the gold leaf adheres correctly. • Practice handling the delicate sheets of gold leaf and burnishing the surface once you’ve finished. Before you leave with your hand-gilded frame, I’ll share a map highlighting some of the locations where you can see art that was framed in our workshop.

With me you will learn the whole history of wine but in a fun way not boring, let's talk about table wines that we drink every day, but also the famous Port Wine We start with a private boat cruise, where we will taste Douro delicacies with drinks n meet the crazy pirates :) to tell us and explain all the authentic stories of the Douro Valley Then we will have an exclusive visit with the Winemaker in a small producer and get ready for some surprises you will love... Pastel de Nata / Workshop From Scratch in Porto

Learn how to make the famous "Pastel de Nata" from scratch, being one of the only workshop where you will make the dough too, so that you can return home and enjoy the traditional Portuguese pastries made by you. While learning how to bake traditional pastries, you can taste a regional wine and learn about Portuguese culture and history through a gastronomic conversation. Once it's ready, it's time to enjoy the learning results with some warm pastries! In this experience, the host will give participants the opportunity to alternately participate in the different phases of making the pastel de nata. Groups can have up to 12 participants. It is mandatory to arrive at least 10 minutes early as entry is not permitted after we have started, that is at the predicted scheduled time. We don't open exceptions. This is a group workshop for adults, not children. Children under 15 are not allowed to join for logistical and safety reasons. Only participants with a reservation can enter the space, companions are not allowed, regardless of age. From May 1st the meeting point and workshop location will be near the train station in the city center. We don't provide here the address so it creates confusion, but if you reservation is for after that date you'll receive close to the date the indications.

Why choose this tour of the Douro Valley instead of many others? Well… that’s a tough one. Many tours claim to be “the best” — and honestly, we all visit amazing places. What truly sets us apart is how you connect with our story, our photos, our reviews… and with us. In the end, you will need to trust your instinct What makes this tour different? I’ve carefully selected small, boutique wineries for this experience — intimate, often family-run places you won’t find in most guides. Some I discovered myself and personally invited to open their doors to visitors. We visit two, with a traditional lunch at one. It's a casual and authentic meal, with wines from the estate served at the table, and a short visit to the winery itself, simple, local, and full of character.. Are small wineries better? That depends on what you’re looking for. If you value a quieter, more personal experience, this tour is likely for you. If you prefer large-scale commercial visits, we might not be the right fit — and that’s perfectly okay. And the boat ride? We travel by van to the Douro Valley, like everyone else, and not by boat (as it's over 130 km from Porto), then enjoy a peaceful 1-hour cruise in Pinhão (30 min upriver, 30 min back) .
