Ongoing Promos -Cherry blossom forecast is out! For travelers who are in Tokyo from March 23 - First week of April, please feel free to inquire! -Day time shooting is currently available upon request! I will show you guys the visuals of Shibuya, the views you can get of the Crossing from above. Off the beaten paths spots and major tourist spots you shouldn't miss. After that we will move to Shinjuku via the JR Yamanote Line (12 minute train ride) and show you the gritty side of Tokyo, showing you the tiniest of alleys and the main night-life spot. The tour/photoshoot is going to be around 2-3 hours. I will be providing you with 25-40 high resolution photos, post processed and ready to share to your friends and family. Disclaimer: The experience is not a private session unless you book for one!
Eat/Drink like A LOCAL - Taverns & Ramen
LET'S GET OUT OF THE TOURIST AREA where it is overpriced and crowded with people! This tour focuses on Ueno, which is not as crowded as Shibuya, Shinjuku and is less touristy. It is also famous with Japanese foodies for a good quality at reasonable prices. I'm going to take you to popular bars and restaurants for ONLY LOCALS (NO TOURISTS!!) where the staff speaks only Japanese. I will order signature dishes, and we will discuss the food and drink (and you can pepper me with questions). We will visit 4 restaurants/taverns in total, where you will sample sashimi, grilled fish and skewered meat, etc. You will also have the opportunity to try UNIQUE Japanese alcoholic drinks (5 or more different type of drinks) and you'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like. After visiting these three taverns, we will end the tour at a great Ramen shop that is popular with locals. At the end of the tour, I will explain which train station you need to go, depending on where you go. You are going to have a full-size meal on the day in several different restaurants included ramen, so again pls come hungry!
Tsukiji (Old) vs Toyosu (New) S.S Tour
We'll start at the new Toyosu—the world's largest fish market. We'll then go to the outer area known as the Tsukiji old market and Tsukiji Uogashi, a new building with fish-selling areas, including a background area, We'll drop in for fish while experiencing the authentic and dynamic atmosphere of a wholesale market. After taking some shopping time at the outer area, we'll purchase a variety of fish and head to Asakusa. We'll visit the popular Buddhist Sensō-ji temple before we go to my shop to prepare Kaisekistyle lunch--Traditional Japanese Cuisine--, Kaisen Donburi—sashimi rice bowls—with fresh seafood and more. After our meal, we'll have some surprise treats. Please note that the markets are lively and changing each day. Please arrive on time and be aware that the experience can run over time. Other things to note Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. The new market is so huge it will seem like we are viewing a factory. We'll go to the Tsukiji old market after that and enjoy comparing the two marketplaces.
The Only Real Japanese Archery -Kyudo- Experience in Tokyo
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan! Join this 2-hours experience and learn KYUDO, Japanese archery martial art. Don a traditional beautiful KYUDO uniform, channel your inner samurai. and challenge for the target! Usually when the beginner takes up KYUDO in earnest, it takes several months of practice before they are allowed to actually shoot at a target. However, this class lets you go straight into action. But please understand that you are required to practice basic training for 1 hour and basic manners, before you shoot at a target. I will guide you through every step to help you hit the target. Anyway, please keep in mind that not everyone can hit the target, even people who training over 10 years. But there’s more to kyudo than hitting the target; performing these fundamental movements correctly and keeping our mind quiet are also considered important. That's why KYUDO is regarded as "active ZEN meditation" in Japan. 1. Meeting together, and moving to a training hall 2. Changing cloth 3. Introduction 4. Exercise 5. Trying to hit the target 6. Changing cloth, and cleaning the hall together * Each time, location of the training hall is different, then after reservation, don't forget to check the location by our message Location is NOT Tokyo station.
Colorful sushi and Tea ceremony
Recently the value of Japanese food has been reconsidered. Japanese food is very healthy and beautiful. In my class, you should learn them easy and delicious . You can learn how to make three types pretty sushi in my class. It is not traditional sushi craftsmen teaching, but it is much in originality. You‘ll enjoy the seasonal feeling from those sushi. Your making sushi is the only one in the world. Also I can prepare vegetarians option. Because these sushi can change the ingredients into vegetables . After make them , let's eat together. I will serve delicious miso soup . After the meal is over, I’ll put Kimono on you. you can choose what you like from several kimono. Then lets enjoy tea ceremony together. Please enjoy the taste of Japanese confectionery and powder green tea. My favorite word is一期一会(Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity) I want to treasure every meeting and encounter I have. Let's explore the food wonderland of Tsukiji Outer Market and enjoy sampling some delicious food. I will give you a brief introduction to the outer market, which is like a labyrinth. There are about 400 shops, so it's difficult to understand what is happening and to find the good ones by yourself. We will also explore the backstreets of the outer market, and I will make recommendations and introduce you to my friends. After this experience, you may continue enjoying Tsukiji Outer market by yourself—shopping, eating, and more. Please be advised that many local spots only accept cash. [REMARKS] Tsukiji inner market (Wholesale market) was closed on 6th Oct. 2018. But Tsukiji outer market is not moved. Our tour is exploring Tsukiji outer market so we could continue this tour. Other things to note Great for first timer in Japan. Infants (2 or less) are free. We have no children price. Acceptable delay is by 5 minutes. A Day as a Sushi Chef
Let’s become sushi master by spending a half day with sushi chef! This tour consists of two part. First, we will walk around Tsukiji fish market where I will explain about fish and Japanese dishes. Second part is, you will experience sushi making, you can make your own sushi! I make some Omakase sushi for you as well. *The duration of this tour is 3-3.5hours.
Let us make a kimono(Kimono is a gift)
First of all, let's get to know each other with a simple self-introduction. 1. Choose your favorite antique kimono from over 300 types of kimono. (Kimonos are ranked in 4 levels. There are red stickers, blue stickers, green stickers, and yellow stickers. The price of this experience is the lowest rank red sticker kimono. On the day, You can also choose a different kimono (blue sticker +2000 yen ($15), green sticker +4000 yen ($30), yellow sticker +6000 yen ($45).) 2. Iron the hemming tape and put the loops through which the belt passes. Learn how to remake into a new kimono in various ways. 3. Coordinating the kimono you made with the easy-to-wear obi, obiage, and obi tightening. Wear it and take a photo. Other notes ・Men don't have a part called "ohashiyori" in their kimono. Therefore, men's kimonos cannot be remade to add length. For men, we have an experience to print the family crest and kanji of the name on kimono, haori, juban and make it into a jacket. ・There is an additional charge for purchasing a obi. Izakaya Food Tour in Shinjuku
We will explore the greater part of Shinjuku, the busiest area in Tokyo to show you popular spots as well as hidden gems. We'll have a couple of bites during the city walk. We'll then head to two izakaya restaurants that are popular among the locals. Places we visit range from modern to traditional, and if you are looking to try just ramen and sushi, this might not be the right one for you. Throughout the evening, we’ll taste different Japanese foods and drinks, learn about our pub food culture and history, and spend time with other foodies. Discover Shitamachi, less touristy old Tokyo, incl a drink
Shitamachi is generally referred to the eastern Tokyo, where many Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, traditional craftsworks, old festivals etc, remain. We the locals call ourselves "Edokko". Edokko are not rich, but we believe that we are the ones who built the foundation of Edo (previous Tokyo) and supported its prosperity for over 250 years. We will explore the center of Shitamachi, Monzennakacho. The host Manami was born and grew up here, learned its history and got degrees in cultural heritage protection. We will first sit at a cafe with some drinks and Manami will give you an overview. 1. Water channels Hear about the unique geographical features, which generated the Shitamachi economy, and locals’ energetic spirit. 2. The Fudo-son temple Learn the differences between Buddhism temples and Shinto shrines, as well as their unique fusion. You will also experience small rules to visit them. 3. The Tomioka Hachimangu shrine We the locals come here for big celebrations and seasonal events, so you might get to see people dressed up in beautiful kimono. It also features huge "Sumo" rocks, weekend free markets, and more. If we need to cancel the tour due to bad weather conditions, we will decide 2 hours before the start time and inform you asap. As the host is specilized in culture, this tour will be an opportunity to find answers to your "why?" about Japan.
Feeling Samurai Soul -samurai experience in Tokyo-
Welcome to No.1 samurai experience in Tokyo! First you'll change the clothes into "kimono" and "hakama" is samurai style. Introducing with tea ceremony Matcha green tea and Wagashi sweets Next we'll watch a real Japanese katana—a traditional sword used by the samurai of ancient and feudal Japan. Then you'll learn how to handle it with unsharpened katana. We'll also do a traditional Zen meditation. It's called "Rituzen". After doing meditation, you will be calm mind and you can cut one bundle of straw with real sword. Through using with real katana yourself, you can feel one part of swordsmanship as samurai. Lastly, you'll watch a performance using real katana by host. This experience has no flashy production, but you can feel the "real". You can enjoy not only training but also total samurai culture with this time. More than over 50country, over 3000 people joined. From families, couples to martial artists, various people touched and enjoyed the “real” samurai world! Our goal for this experience is for you to have a comprehensive understanding about Japanese tea, understanding its history, production, and regional difference. You will taste 12 different types of Japanese teas and you will be guided through step by step with thorough explanations. All teas will be selected and sourced by the host from family farms in Japan and it will be wide range of teas from daily tasty teas to hand picked premium teas.
