The Only Real Japanese Archery -Kyudo- Experience in Tokyo
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan! Experience KYUDO, the Japanese art of archery, the most beautiful, elegant martial art, with this program in Tokyo. In Japan, KYUDO is recognized to be a “Dynamic ZEN Meditation”. Believe it or not, you know when you hit the target the moment the arrow leaves your hand. Usually in Japan, when people take up KYUDO in earnest, it takes several months of practice before they are allowed to actually shoot at a target, but this program lets you go straight into action. Don a real traditional KYUDO uniform. Get matched with a bow and arrows for your body. Channel your inner spirits, but keeping your mind quiet, and try shooting an arrow at the middle of the target. You have dozens of times to try, but please understand that you may not hit the target on your first day, or you may get lucky once or twice. So, get advice on how to improve your movement. Although the instructor in this program is a DAN master (seeker), we have made many improvements over the thousands of people we have accepted for this experience and have created the program that can be enjoyed even by those who are new to Kyudo. * The meeting place for this program is different each time. Then after reservation, find the location by our message (the location is NOT at Tokyo station) * We would appreciate your assistance in carrying tools and cleaning the hall when we are done using it
Discover Less Touristy Old Tokyo with a Real Local
Please kindly note that we can't see the Buddhist ritual and part of the Shinto shrine at night tours. Let's stroll around local bars instead and I will invite you. You will explore Monzennakacho, small neighborhood in the eastern part of Tokyo. Manami was born and grew up here, learned about its history, and later earned a Ph.D. in cultural heritage protection. We are always a small group. You will meet a real local who has expert insight into Japanese spirituality and understands the neighborhood's backstory. Manami explains what's going on at the Buddhist fire ritual and what all the unique Shinto symbols mean. 1. Passing by old bars, Manami will introduce geographical features and history of this area. She will also uncover why two religions, Buddhism and Shinto, coexist in Japan, their differences, and what they mean to Japanese people. 2. Fukagawa Fudo-do - Buddhist temple: Manami will share basic etiquettes and photo/video rules. You will witness a spectacular ritual with fire and huge drums. Please relax and follow Manami’s instructions. 3. Tomioka Hachimangu - Shinto shrine: After learning the Shinto-style coin-throwing, you will see some "Sumo rocks” and grand festival floats. If you would like to do the "omikuji" fortune teller lotto or "goshuin" stamp, Manami will be happy to help so please feel free to ask her. Can't wait to show you around my hometown!

Tsukiji Private Tour: Taste Your Fav Food from 460 Stalls!
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan! You may know Tsukiji area is one of the most popular tourist spots in Tokyo. At Tsukiji fish market, about 460 street food stalls are waiting for you. Tsukiji is truly a heaven for Japanese food, however, the problem is that there are so many stalls (and some of them offer the same type of food) that it is very difficult to find really delicious Ramen, Japanese beef, Sushi, Unagi, Japanese omelet, Sake, Mochi, Matcha sweets. Some of them are very wonderful totally, but some are not so good in quality. And several stores also offer “touristy” prices unfortunately. In addition, when you arrive at Tsukiji, you will be disappointed to find long lines of people waiting in front of the famous stalls. But don't worry! Our guides all live in Tokyo, and we have explored, tried(tasted) and compared and evaluated food from many stalls in Tsukiji. Moreover, if you have been on group food tours in other countries in the past, you have probably experienced long waits for food you did not want to eat. That's why this tour is a private tour. In addition, if you have chance to come to Tsukiji all the way from your country, we hope you visit nice tourist spots around the market. As the professional tour guides, we would like to take you there. And plus, through this tour, you may learn our society, custom, culture, history, beauty, lifestyle, and way of thinking.
