Old bank turned into a boutique hotel with a public art gallery, restaurant and bar. You can even go into the vault!

The bar at Durham’s “Art Hotel” 21 C. (The Counting House is also a pretty tasty, higher priced restaurant.) Grab a drink and browse the art on display in the floors above, or ask for a tour of the vault. All exhibits are free of charge and available to view 24/7.

Fun artwork throughout the restaurant and bar alongside creative menu. If you go alone to the bar they will have a bright fushia penguin accompany you. Querky but thoughtful vibe.

In the brand-new 21C Hotel and Art Museum, the Counting House is wonderful place for an upscale dinner and hours spent perusing the world-class 25/7 galleries.
