Back in the day Maine farmers built Grange Halls in just about every town, in order for people to discuss how to get produce to market, when freight trains were too costly. These Grange Halls today are places that host events for people in the community to get together, and usually this takes the form of pig roasts, community suppers, pie nights, live music, square dances, and pancake breakfasts, or Hunters' Breakfasts. However, they don't have set dates when these functions are happening. You have to watch for signs in the village when these functions are open, and if they are offering a function while you are in Blue Hill, we highly recommend going.
