The Indigo Hotel is one of New York's newest hotel and a great place to take in the view on the 14th floor lobby, have a coffee, then go up one flight to the bar, which is very popular on the weekend

This place has an amazing rooftop with a view on both the Financial District (One Trade Center) and the Empire State Building. There is also a pool on the rooftop. If you want to stay there, try to get in before 7pm in the evening or book a table for a brunch on Sundays. This place is famous but pretty crowded and mostly with New Yorkers in the night, but this worth a try with some friends!
