Kind of Notre Dame de Paris with all its beauty and misery. Nice spot to visit during the morning or day hours for a cup of coffee and local bakery as well as at night on Fridays and Saturdays for live performance and rock bars.

This Catholic basilica is in Chapinero, a town in the north part of the greater Bogota area. Completed in 1904 the Neogothic-Moorish style church dedicated to 'Our Lady of Lourdes' plays a pivotal role in the archdiocese of Bogota, due to its size and -by local standards- splendor. Compared to other churches in the Candelaria area it is light inside and has plain surfaces. The many pointed arches and stained glass windows give it a special atmosphere. The chapel with the Lady of Lourdes is behind the main altar, where at the moment is an elaborate Nativity scene.

Es la primera construcción en estilo neogótico en Colombia. Fue construida en 1875, pero después de 1917, las ambiciosas proporciones originales fueron modificadas. Se destacan los vitrales policromados elaborados en Bogotá en el taller del artista alemán Walter Wolf Wasserhouen y los monumentales espacios interiores,3 la torre cuadrangular que remata la fachada, las torrecillas del frontis, los arcos de ojiva de las puertas y la ornamentación de las cornisas.
