The first property on the National Trusts List . The village of Alfriston is a very authentic Sussex village . Alex Polizzi from the hotel inspector owns the Star Inn with her mother and has been totally referbished by them.

Alfriston is worth a half day visit and this is a highlight. Loads of good walks around the village, some good pubs, interesting and unique shops plus the CLERGY HOUSE (only open in the summer). Its a National Trust property

The first property to be purchased by the National Trust located in the beautiful Alfriston village, one of the oldest villages in the country and has two historic inns, one of which has recently been purchased and renovated by Alex Polizzi, The Star.
