If you prefer swimming to walking, you’re also in luck. This place is famous for the Hampstead Heath ponds, which are popular places for Londoners to cool off on hot summer days. If you’re brave enough to swim without seeing the bottom, you can head to the Men’s Bathing Pond, Ladies’ Bathing Pond, or Mixed Bathing Pond in Hampstead Heath for a dip. Swimming in the ponds is one of the most quintessential things to do in London in summer, and a great local experience.

If you into some wild swimming then this is one of the best spots in London. There is also a women’s and men’s only pond too.

This is one of my favourite things to do- swim in the pond on Hampstead Heath. The overground train from Kensal Rise ( 15 minute walk or 52 bus) to Hampstead Heath Station takes 10 minutes. Walk a few minutes and you are on the Heath. There are also lots of fabulous cafe's to choose from.
