From the owners of popular Old Brompton Road gastro wine bar Margaux comes this Hollywood Road newbie (on the site of the old Honky Tonk bar), where locals are now piling in for niçoise and provençale sharing dishes, along with some excellent, if ambitiously priced, wines by the glass or carafe (as well, of course, as by the bottle). Small dishes include a very convincing pissaladière, crisp duck-leg confit with roast figs and a silky-smooth lavender and thyme ice cream. For a taste of the warm south, a central olive tree provides the decoration, and smiling staff add still more sunshine.
