Utah has spectacular birding opportunities with this being one of the best in the country. The management area is made up of dikes, canals and water control structures designed to hold back fresh water and spread it out over the land in a way that is most productive for waterfowl. More than 200 different species of birds have been documented here. Hundreds of thousands of birds visit this area during the migration March-May and again August-October. Nesting season is March 1st through September 15th.
