Like you would expect, there are tons of restaurants in Freiburg where you can eat traditional German cuisine. If you’re in the mood for a pub-style atmosphere, snag a booth at Schlappen, which is located in the heart of the Old Town. With a variety of beer, whiskey, wine and even absinthe (yes – absinthe!), Schlappen is the perfect place to spend the afternoon. Schlappen is a nice german bar with a great atmosphere, it's a good place to have a good time having a beer and food from the region. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big.

This is a good local pub for all generations. Here you find many locals before going out or just sitting.to have a beer. Also note the large list of the whiskies they propose.
