It typifies the impressive and orderly traditional Thai architecture. It is thus accepted as having the best architectural plan. Wat Benchamabophit is also known as the Marble Temple. It was built during the reign of King Rama the Fifth. This master piece consists of a lavish exterior wall with a courtyard made of Italian Marble (hence the name "Marble Temple"). It also has a well kept garden and an impressive replica of the Buddha in Wat Mahathat in Phitsanulok.
