The Kile Oak is a 400 year old Bur Oak. Its garden, located at 5939 Beechwood Ave, is a registered wildlife habitat site and is planted with over 60 species of native Indiana wildflowers, ferns, and grasses. "It's mind-blowing to think the Kile was around when Peter Minuit paid $24 to Native Americans for the island of Manhattan, when Ben Franklin discovered electricity, when Louisa May Alcott wrote "Little Women."

This is one of the oldest oak tress in the entire country. And it's right here in our neighborhood!
