In Ironwood, there’s one thing people can count on besides death and taxes.. that's SNOW! This former ore-mining town just over the Wisconsin-Michigan border. Blown in over Lake Superior, the snow starts falling late autumn and keeps falling until spring. Its sheer quantity often exasperates locals, but it exhilarates cross-country skiers . ABR is full service top notch ski touring center with 60km of beautifully groomed skating and striding trails and a 4-kilometer snowshoeing loop on more than 600 acres. located on over 1100 scenic acres of varied terrain along the Montreal River in Ironwood.

This is a great cross country ski trail system for every level of skier. They do equipment rentals and have started offering trail cabins for a rustic winter retreat. People come from all over the world just to x country ski here. Run by great local people!
